Sir Topham Hatt decided that the work in the station yard was too much for Percy the Small Engine to handle on his own, so he brought in a new engine to help him. When Percy told the bigger engines the news, they all scoffed at Percy, saying that he can't handle the work simply because he's a tank engine. When the new engine arrived, who happened to be a tank engine himself, the bigger engines thought it fun to order him about, which they later learned, was a big mistake!
