Hey Erika, I really believe in decluttering in phases. I think I have been actively decluttering for almost 10 years now! It takes time for sure. It's easy to get burnt out. I kept telling myself if it took 20 years to accumulate all of the stuff we own, it would take a while to go through it all! I can relate to clutter triggering anxiety! Unfortunately I live with three other people and I still have to accept how they live and the things they want to keep. I desperately need new pots and pans!! Ours are falling apart! Not keeping duplicates is such a good tip! You did such a great job! Thanks for sharing!💖
I hear you about the burn out! Today, I am dead and usually I am for a few days. It takes a lot out of me, especially when you add filming it to the mix. Hehe but it definitely motivates me to get it done. I agree, if it took years to gather it, it’ll take years to get rid of it. I never decluttered anything in my life prior to my move. I’ve had to learn so much and I’m still learning thanks to friends like you! I really do look up to you. I agree, with other people we have to respect their spaces 😂

I’m only going to keep one. Which would you keep? Floral or leopard, I called it cheetah 😂😂😂 his pants are the best haha they are pajamas.

I’ve been in this strange phase where I know my kids are never going to bring artwork home anymore and I’m holding on to what’s on there for that reason. For Sooooo long I was the “I don’t want anything on my fridge mom” and I regret it so much because they are only little once. That’s the rational behind my messy fridge 😊 yes please new counters! I really can’t stand the current ones.
Erica u are making great strides with all the decluttering🥰 one tip I can share is to have no spend days. Like a certain number of days per month u don’t buy anything at all. That should help curb the influx of new things coming into the home:) I say keep the cheetah cup!!🥰

Hilarious... I love your husband's pants! 😂 Excellent work! In the lower cabinets, installing some pull-out drawers or even just using clear bins (that aren't too tall so they fit under the shelf) would help with reaching items at the back.

I just came across your video I am too on my journey to minimalism. And you are correct. If you don’t like your kitchen it’s hard to be motivated to cook. And since we spend a lot of time there we should love it! I did my coffee cups, drinking cups. Travel mugs declutter and I only have one fun cup for each member of my family which is 3 of us. And I have regular cups and 8 drinking glasses. Goood job
It is so nice to connect with other people who are working on their minimalism journeys. 😊 it’s nice to feel like you’re not alone, it’s not an easy task! One cup per person is great. I’ll eventually get rid of more, I am not so much a Rae Dunn fan anymore and the cups are so large. Each time I am able to get rid of more. I am so glad you are here 😊

This home is paid off so the thought of mortgaging a new home in this economy doesn’t seem like the right thing for us to do “at the moment.” I personally feel like no matter what efforts I make the house is lacking major spaces that we desperately need. Time will tell! For now I just try to make it work and see it as a challenge! Can I do this? 🤔
I haven’t bought anything. I already owned all of this. I moved from a much larger home where I had much more and I’m still trying to declutter what I previously owned. I was also living in two homes before we made the final move so I am also consolidating two kitchens. Which is why I had two pan sets and two of everything.
