Is it? I thought it was bombed near the center of Prague. Maybe i missed that one…

@@DailyExplore I thought I read somewhere that Prague was the only major Eurpean city that wasn’t bombed. I could be wrong though,did the Germans bomb it ?

​@@dwight4626No, the Allies in 1945, when the Germans were withdrawing from the Eastern Front. They explained it away as a mistake, that they were heading for Dresden.
Prague is the best preserved city not primarily because it wasn't bombed, but because of the 19th century and early 20th century, where European cities were undergoing dramatic changes. Prague was spared because it was a provincial city of the Austrian Empire and, in addition, there was a national revival that tried to preserve the character of the city. After 500 years, for example, there was finally talk of completing St. Vitus Cathedral, which was finished in 1929 (construction was begun by Charles IV in 1344).
