- This is one of my original compositions that I am truly proud of, not of its structure, but of the inspiration that made me complete it - Fr. Jerry Orbos' Homilies in this time of Covid-19 pandemic.
As some of my friends may already know, Fr. Orbos is really my favorite priest. If you regularly watch/listen to his homilies, you will find the lyrics very familiar.
This song was conceived from the 2-Chord Songwriting Challenge of Boss Rannie Raymundo on Madhouse Music.
For a songwriter who cannot even play any musical instruments, this is, by far, the most difficult songwriting challenge I've ever joined.
I usually make a melody and lyrics first before I search for beats/loops that can go with the song as an accompaniment. However, in this challenge, I was forced to search for a loop first that has only 2 CHORDS before making the melody and lyrics. Upon hearing the loop that I've chosen, I suddenly remembered Fr. Orbos' recent homilies. And that's it, this song was born.
Truly grateful to Madhouse Music family, most especially to Boss Rannie Raymundo, for always supporting independent music artists like me, and for motivating us to further hone our craft.
Hope you'll find love and peace with this song no matter how simple it may be.
