Listening to this while doing a 12 hour shift on a mountain in the Excavator with the boss on the radiofor a while I actually felt like i was in a tie fighter following orders from the death star well done great books!
Ngl, almost gave up on this one. Started so slow, well maybe slow isnt the best word but it was hard to get into at first. Glad i stuck it out because it just became one of my favorites.. Great book, wish i read or listened to it years ago.
Think so? I guess it hadn’t occurred to me that ai would take up voice work. Though I prefer to think of even audiobook reading as a talent best suited to voice actors and not machines, but then, droids can do just about everything these days.

Really great book, the first hour i was on the fence. Became very compelling as you reach ANH time period. Love this narrators style, I will definitely be listening to your other remasters. Thank you.
I hope you check out our new version of Death Star (the release you are referring to is more than 1 year old... and an early release)... the new version is 100% A.I., but you should not be able to tell it wasn't read by a "real" person (more than 30 different voices spanning just Chapters 1 through 7)... Our new release is much higher quality - I hope you enjoy it!
Cheers, not come across these novels before, enjoyable. Every time the Death Star cantina was mentioned I couldn't help but think of Eddie Izzard and his Death Star canteen sketch!
This isn't a legend. This is what happened no matter how much Disney wants to say it didn't. Heir to the Empire is also the only sequel trilogy I will ever accept.
I LOVE the Heir to the Empire trilogy! This was written in 2008, four years before the Disney purchase, so officially it's legends... There are no changes to the timeline or content of other stories... just the Imperial perspective before/during 'A New Hope' (before 1+ million died on board the Death Star, I suppose). There are 3 good characters introduced... unfortunately , 2 of them have a "date with destiny" by the end of the story 😔
I just really wanted that trilogy to be the one. Have Luke father Rey for the next three lol. I loved those books. Thanks for the reply! I'm sure ur busy.
@@pepppery I first listened to it in late November 2018 as a way to help kill time recovering from getting all four of my wisdom teeth out. It's become my all-time favorite *_Star Wars_* book to date.
Thank you so much for doing this! You should do more of the older legends novels that haven’t been put on audible or if they are they’re abridged. The med star series and the Cerus Deception come to mind, or the Republic and Imperial commando ones. If there was a way I’d gladly pay for those! Will be following the channel with great interest👍
Thank you... I have many and will put them up in addition to original works... I don't have the MedStar unabridged versions, but we may see those created by another fan in the near future 🙏🏼
Yes, I also lost sight of the inevitable end that everyone on the Death Star will obviously face... until the last 4-5 chapters... and events from A New Hope begin to occur 😐
Yes, I know... this novel really shows you the impact of the Death Star's destruction... I would also like to know their fate, as well. If I find a short story with any of these characters, you will see it here?
That's a difficult one, tbh. You will see why I say that in detail once I move my efforts to that Era, but the book ends in 0 BBY ... Shadow Games fits nicely after Death Star, given the events ... strictly from a chronological perspective, Rebel Dawn is occuring concurrently. If you factor in (canon) comic stories, it becomes more convoluted.
Yes, I definitely can (and will)... but next up are 4-5 Old Republic short stories... then another long audiobook. I hope everyone enjoyed Death Star! 🤗
Look out for the Easter Egg once Death Star, Part One: Construction is released! (I hope you checked out our sneak peak of Death Star... which, I believe, gives the story the justice it deserves!)
Actually, no... but we have already planned to add something (an Easter Egg) within the contents of the full A.I. version that is currently in Post Production... It will be interesting to see if someone finds it in the upcoming version! :-)
I agree... from what I could learn from YT, three are 3 (at least) factors that effect the amount of commercials... this was my first audiobook and I inadvertently hit all three. 🙈 I will be redoing Death Star first (with full A.I. this time), but keep in mind it is 13+ hours long - and I would like to have it as a single audiobook. With that said, it is also my most popular audiobook (plus it deserves to be done correctly!). I have been doing smaller projects with an eye towards updating Death Star, Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter, and the Coruscant Nights Trilogy. Given their length, I will re-produce the narrator (ofc), and use limited additional voices (likely 2-3 main characters only), plus any minor characters (by number of lines) for which I have an A.I. already (i.e., Darth Vader)... which is why I am creating specific short stories to accumulate A.I.s (there is a method to my madness... maybe 🤣) I will also add a soundtrack (easy to do), but limited sound effects (which is very time consuming - especially if they are timed to the dialogue)... I will start on Death Star following Allegiance. How many ads are you getting every 30 minutes?

This was one of my favorite of the Legends novels (and I've read a few). Thanks for doing this one, it was great to revisit it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have no clue why this popped up in my recommendeds while I was on a Pitch Meeting video, but holy shit I'm so glad it did.
I am glad it did as well.
