【Synopsis】

That was a powerful speech that she gave him. Yan Xun basically became just like the person he hated the most (the Wei emperor), suspecting the people most loyal to him because he feels threatened by their power.
Exaaaactly! You nailed it. Yan Xun became so twisted with hate and the need for revenge that he became the very thing he was trying to defeat in the Emperor. The speech was great but I was screaming for her to hurry it up so she could reach YWY sooner.

Zhao Lying's acting along with the other main leads is very convincing, and whoever coordinated the visual filming and music did a beautiful job. There is so much symbolism such as zooming in on the ice cracking--like visual poetry.

Yuwen Yue (young master)...is the only reason why I have been following the movie and the girl pretended not to understand his feelings until at a dying minutes...the movie is so heartbreaking...where he died and how he died was so painful to me....I don't care how they do it, I just need season 2🙏 he has to come back to life.
Where the hell I can find this kind of love? So heartbreaking yet very satisfying knowing that they've both deeply in love and care for each other. However, it's too late for X'nger to realized what she really have is YYW.

I don’t understand how people see this as a cliffhanger. She came to herself at the end. It was beautiful that what she truly loved most was him above all, that the only thing that could destroy her was his death. That she thought she would fight against him and instead she turned to fight for his life. It was beautiful,well done, awesome series. Had me in tears.

He knew he loved her all along but she didn't know she loved him until she was about to lose him and that's the tragic ending! He never forced her to come to him and that would be her choice. In the end she chose to come back to him but it's too late!

I finished the whole series, the entire 58 episodes, in 2 short days, including one 24-hr continuous stretch without a break (yes, no sleep and only one quick meal, for the entire 24 hrs; and I had to go to work the following day, imagine that). That was few days ago. Now, I going at a second round. This time I going slow to better appreciate it. The story is great, all the characters are well developed; great acting, great cinematography; I like the clothing too. Love the cast. Love the 13th prince of Wei, and his sister Chun'er (great acting, my heart aches for her. who can blame her for what she ultimately turned into? we are only human after all). Like the prince of Liang state, Xian Ce (I actually can't tell if he has feelings for Xing'er or was just using her). I have not seen many people in the comments mentioning Yan Xun's lady body guard, Zhong Yu; I have to say, I just adore her (loyal, dedicated, good Kongfu, unassuming and, last but not least, beautiful; what a girl! I wish I had someone like that at my side. Hmmm, of cause, only in my dreams. Don't know why not seeing people mentioning her in the comments). Above all, Xing'er and Yuwen Yue, love you two. Their love for each other is so touching. Yu's love for Xing'er is from the start (he has done so much for her, saving her life at every turn, but never says it). Whereas Xing'er's love for Yu seems to take time to develop; only to the end, she started to appreciate how much Yu loves her; all along, she has been giving Yuwen Yu a hard time (what torture it must be to him). But, in the deepest recess of her heart, she has been in love with him, though she never tells him. Finally, in episode 57 (that is, almost the end of the show), she said to him in tears that she owns him too much and would never be able to pay back (still did not really say she loves him). Only till when Yuwen Yu was dying on the ice lake, she showed how much she loved him, holding him, kissing him (oh, that cry! I cried with her). Then, the show ended right there! See what I mean, is this cruel to us fans...?! 😭😭😭 Still, my big, fat thanks to all that was involved in the production of this great show! And, please don't forget that fans from all over the world are waiting for season 2. ----- a fan from the US.

I read the online version. This was not the ending. Yuwen Yue survived and later married Xinger. They lived happily and surprisingly yue turned out to be a very very very romantic husband. They had 3 kids but both stayed madly in love with each other like a new couple. His son had to make an agreement with his father to sleep with his mother which his father broke every night. Hahaha
No one talk about the princess of Liang, Xiao Yu, she realy love YY her pen pal, almost thraw away being princess for the sake of YY. She and YY both share the common course to pursue love- the difference between two is story of princess Yu was not emphasize like that of YY.

He didnt die.... after he "died" the Yuwen Family disowned him and he was erased from all the record of the Royal Politics and Yuwen Family because they are shaming him that "instead of dying in the war he died only for a woman" after that Yan Xun spread the news that Xing Er killed him thats why she was hunted down by the Yuwen's and the Wei Royalty ... little did they know Yuwen Yue was saved and became the Ruler of Qinghai and he came back to Wei State and became the Grand Marshal of the Wei and he saved Xing er from Yan Xun with the help of Xiao Ce (Liang Prince)..... there's actually a lot that happened in Season 2 of the Novel and believe me THERE'S A LOT OF SWEET MOMENTS between Xing Er and Yuwen Yue (Yuwen Yue even proposed to Xinger)

For those who wonder or complain is this the end of the drama? The answer is no, it is not the end. The cliffhanger is obvious, isn't it? This drama is based on a novel and the story is too long to be wrapped up in 1 season. Let the crew/actors/actresses get a well-deserved rest and be back stronger in season 2. Peace out!

I watched a lot of Chinese series but never so hooked like this 😍 especially because Zhao li ying and Lin geng xin portrayed their role so well as yuwen yue and xing er/chu qiao.
