For your kind information , in question number 10 ,the word fast is adverb here because it tells about the verb ran in the sentence .It answers that he ran with a fast frequency so here it is an Adverb of frequency...Moreover , it is not necessary that an adverb ends at ly. This is not an authentic rule but merely a guess. The word Fast may be an Adjective when it tells about a Noun or a Pronoun. For example, A fast train cannot be caught by dacoits because the train is fast. When it is an Adjective ,it has three degrees, fast ,faster ,fastest.
Respected Sir, I would like to add something more to this video. The correct answer of the question number ten " He ran very fast." is the option C. Here, the word "fast" is an adverb not an adjective. By the way, your opinion about its adjective nature is right. the following are its three degrees of adjective: fast, faster and the fastest. But in this sentence, it acts as an adverb. Thank you for this wonderful lecture
I believe, Question 4 is wrong. For refers to periods of time, e.g. 3 years, 4 hours, ages, a long time, 2 months, 3 years while since refers to point of time Morning, 2010, childhood, I left school, etc. Though I've found sentences like this structure in Michael Swan, Practical English Usage, second edition I haven't seen John for a long time. I haven't seen John since a long time ago. but still couldn't get a proper understanding. Kindly elaborate. Moreover, in Question 10. He ran very fast. (Very is an adverb, which modifies another adverb(fast), not an adjective) He is very fast. (here fast is an adjective). Kindly correct me if I am wrong
