no-one drove a song like Rick.
my teacher is teaching me this on guitar, and it sure isn't easy. the stretch is unbelievable, and Rick is great at doing barre chords especially during a whole concert!
One of the greatest rock songs ever written. Fantastic to see it presented this way.
In the 70's I was into the likes of Floyd and Zep, but the albums Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On The Level, and Blue For You are treasured possessions, an abiding memory is being at Quo gigs incl two of the three nights recording the Live album at the Glasgow Apollo when Quo really rocked the place with stuff like Big Fat Mama, Fortyfive Hundred Times, etc, its something I'll never forget, Quo were special, just incredible, and yeah that balcony at the Apollo really did "move" when Quo played there.
these guys have come up with some stonking guitar riffs. long live the quo
This man is just the greatest guitar player in the world. Look at the way of playing!!!!!!
I think you're kinda missing the point! I would say he's probably the best rhythm player ever. Nothing more exciting than the opening of a Quo gig when Rick hammers out this rhythm.
Mr. Rhythm himself. A unique style that has no match. Top notch !
Damn.. i think he's got got hands made of steel.. He an Malcolm are the best!!!
This man is a god!
fantastic.......seen Quo about 10 times in my life.........brilliant back in the 70's and brilliant now!!
I've been a quo fan all my life and I've never seen rick play it as good as this, it's those little bits he does in the verse that makes the song :D rock on rick.
The very best rhythm guitarist on the world...RP
I love Quo.I've seen them many time but one time I got to see them in a club in Toronto Canada. The hard-rock cafa.I was right on the stage monitor two feet from Rick. After a ripping run through of backwater I called to Rick,"Rick" I said,"your a god, what can I say"
He chuckled and gave me his pick.I still have that pick.Quo4ever :)
You gotta love that chorus part!!
The guy's a machine. I take my hat off to him.
Thank you very much Rick for showing this.
RICK and MALCOLM the best rhythm guitarist in the world!!!!*****5/5+++++
How could someone "dislike" this?!
Wow!.
Rick Parfitt certainly earned his money playing like that.

sheer genious
I'm really enjoying!!!
awesome
I' like it!!!
without Rick there is no Quo sound. I may be not like Jimmy Hendrix but I get chicken skin listening to this guy!!
Simple and great :-)) Tx!!!!
That's true but at the same time there's certain guitarists who although not "technical" guys in the vein of Yngwie,Vai, Satch etc have an instantly recognisable feel to their playing which makes the tunes work. Malcolm Young is another a good example along with Izzy Stradlin on the early GN'R stuff.
Best in the world... no doubts !
this is good rockn roll and my favourite gitarrist!!!!!!!
Really I didn't know that. That's cool
@MrFlyffking Hey no problem - i was thinking would your dvd player or tv have an option where you can select subtitles? Might be an option. So it automatically detects the language? Sorry we don't have subtitles.
so cooool...!
This is ROCK@N@ROLL!!!!!
it is never too old ma Bert from Germany
Great, I love these videos! Is this in standard tuning, because when I play it it sounds higher pitched?
sherr genious

@clarkykidda27
Same, that was months ago though.
Amazing rythem guitarist. Impossible to be better than Rick.
Impossible to be better than Quo.
@iTzFreakoutz Tele and Marshall and VOX AC30s depending on songs plus the way he plays.
So few who try to emulate Rick play their chords on the upstroke.
Thaaat Guitar! Fuckin awesome telecaster! :D
RICK and MALCOLM best GUITARIST IN THE WORLD!!!!!
It sounds easy but try to play and get the sound and feel he does is alot harder than it looks.
@cc75frenchygirl If you think THAT'S a stretch, you should try The Beatles' "I Feel Fine", which has several G-major barre chords on the third fret, where your pinkie has to momentarily reach the sixth fret -- which that far down the neck is an even bigger stretch than what you see here.
how does he get that sound on a tele? please someone tell me ?
-thanks
well you heard that wrong he owned it since 1971 he told me that in a meet and greet at the heineken music hall 21 november last year
For the intro he only plays the top 2 strings right?
@batseend
Yes
@batseend he plays the e,a,d and g strings
i have heard that Rick has his guitars custom made to look like that.
what make actually is that tele?
he Rick can you play Down Down
gr Holland
anybody have tabs for this? xD i really don't know what chords he play... :/
Is that guitar designed like that or is it just that well worn?
it's a bit tricky when I try to play it stood up.
Shame on me, I always played this wrong the last 30 years. Cool video, Rick Parfitt is really great.
My hand hurts
this
I don't understand the stuff after 0:52 tried to play it myself, didn't sound anyhing like it's supposed to...
@KarmaCleansing1 how about Malcolm Young?
wonder how much that pinky is insured for...
Rick uses heavy gauge strings.
piahmetal. he plays f Bb and c
F7, Bb7 and C7. All Barre Chords apart from the verse.
you forgot Dave Mustaine :)
This is the shit my guitar teacher tried to get me to play. No thank you.
not really the hardest stuff he is playing is it.
i have heard that Rick gets his guitars custom made to look like that.
