    I think it's telling that the criticism of generative grammar was based on Tomasello, rather than actual generative works. There is stronger evidence for the critical period than is presented here. Brain localisation is a strawman argument (who said it had to be a centralised module, reference missing), and generativists supposedly claim "language usage doesn't play a huge role" - for what? Add page numbers to slides. What is "mainstream generative grammar?" No evidence for the claim that "generativists" ever "dominated" linguistics - there have always been many approaches to language. I think the presentation of cognitive linguistics in opposition to other frameworks is embarrassing. The actual contributions from cognitive linguistics are important though.
