yoo this is like the 6th devlog i think of my game karlson, which all started like 3 months ago when jotaro said i couldnt make a 3d game. in this one we'll be learning to make maps, bake light reee & make the first boss in Karlson (Willy). The reason this video was delayed a week is simply because I just didn't have much to show, since making maps for karlson is soooo slow

Edit: I’m a game developer now and I now understand what Dani feels, there are bugs in karlson, a lot of them, he can fix them but every time he does, more bugs appear, that’s why he has to delay the release of karlson by a LOT

When you hit the boss with his rocket his face should glitch or flicker while he is stunned
it should only happen when you hit it with the missile or something and his face turns off when he cant move

The final boss of the game should be dependent on how the player treated billy. If he was mistreated too much you have to fight him, but if you didn't abuse him he assists you against a stronger boss
Or turn the tables maybe, the more you abuse Billy, the less you have to fight willy.
Collin Babin Better yet, if you abuse billy enough he’s even harder then the boss you get if you don’t abuse him.

For anyone wondering, "Baking" Lights is technique in rendering (and Video games!) where you calculate the lighting before the scene is rendered then you save an image of the shadows, so all you have to do is simply ray-cast the lights and boom, the shadows are there.
Im pretty stupid though so feel free to correct me

its been 3 year release karlson i have it wishlisted, EVERYONE HAS IT WISHLISTED
Watching the gameplay, it looks like it would be fun if you had some kind of bullet deflection mechanic. A method I can think of is if you press a key the character will block with the sword for a quarter of a second. Any bullet that hits the character during that quarter of a second has its rotation changed to match the characters. You could also implement a cooldown on blocking so the player doesn't just deflect every bullet from the boss.
This reminds of genji from overwatch
I feel like that could cause a lot of bugs, with the games time slowing mechanics, because you might be able to block forever in slow-mo, and also if multiple are coming at the same time, with the cooldown, one will hit you, so it's either broken and incredible, or totally useless

- music that adapts to the situation, like getting "more epic" when the boss has lower health
- particles going all over the place when willie drops onto the floor (using unitys particle engine)

Hey Dani, when hooking with the sword, it seems kind of illogical to have it be turned around basically stabbing yourself and likely very inconvenient to hold on to.
I think a cool aesthetic change would be making the blade itself sort of like a whip blade that can extend and hook on to things.
This way you don't stab yourself all the time when hooking on to things and it could open up for more possibilites with the sword.
Anyways, I like milk.

Boss idea: Walking Sword
Add a hiding mechanic, like hiding inside a crate *the blue boxes* but only certain boxes in certain areas, take it too far from the area the box will break, boxes are to hide from the rockets or sneak passed enemies.
(Or you can't do that.)

Please make a *gamemode* to *toggle when the game starts* , one for the pro gamers (Without the waypoint), or the other mode that has the waypoints activated.
I suggest the *arrows to appear* when they *are near the player* to make it look a bit better so on the run you make decisions where to jump giving more depth to walljumps :)

Yeah and I think it could come out, like, a combination of Willy and bullet-hell, due to the fact that he would get into a mechsuit, have a 4 beam laser blaster, 4 cluster missles which are fired in the direction of the player, but do *NOT* home in, summoning a few minions with guns, dashing and using his armblades (???) and, of course, a minigun.

yeah first just basic fighting and then the boss fight ends when willy destroys all of the pillars
