@@tehbieber Thanks for the quick response! What if the plate was rinsed but not enough? I recently started doing tintypes and im worried my first plates from a month ago werent rinsed properly (used rapid fix, cant remember how long the rinse was but it was nowhere close to even ten minutes) but they still look fine
@@Wolfof1918 it'll depend on how long the rinse was and how long you fixed for, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe one day you'll see them start to fade, maybe it'll take longer than your lifetime
This is terrific, Robert! Can these be used to wash plates in the wash tray to prevent then from scratching each other, or would there not be sufficient circulation to thoroughly do the final wash?
I'd still recommend getting a proper print washer for better circulation, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work that way. Just have to make sure you do a plenty long rinse with water flowing through the container
Clever idea Robert
Great solutions. I’m looking to get started in wet plate, so I really appreciate you sharing this.
The models are wonderful. Thank you!
brilliant idea
Are you able to design some 8x10 plate holders like this? If so I would love to purchase them from you.
There's actually an 8x10 version at the link in the description. I don't sell them but you can send them to any 3d printing service
❤️❤️❤️
Great ideas! Can I ask you where you purchased the glass container for the glycerine? Thank You!
Hey there!
Odd question, but how quickly does the image start to degrade if the fixer was rinsed off properly?
@@Wolfof1918 if it's rinsed properly, I don't think anyone really knows how long it would take. Photos from the 19th century are still in great shape
