    For Tough to be a Bug, if you think there’s at all a chance you or your kid might freak out with the dark or the effects, try to see if they can seat you towards the back of the theater and as close to the far side as possible. There’s a walkway in the back to allow for guests with accessibility concerns, but if you need to hop skip out of the theater right quick, the best way is gonna be to flag down the closest cast member and either head for that back aisle so they can guide you, or heads toward the far side wall if you’re closer so they can point you to the door.

    I think Navi river journey gets a lot of undeserved hate, sure it doesn’t have any drops or thrilling elements and even though it’s short (I’ll be the first to admit that) it’s still beautiful and has a lot of really great qualities like the animatronic at the end. I think the only reason it gets hate is because the line gets really long and it’s not worth it most of the time.

      @himynameiscorey ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s the thing, no one wants to wait an hour for a slow boat dark ride, I would never wait that amount of time for Pirates, Jungle Cruise, or It’s A Small World.

      Joe Rhode loves this attraction. I'm with Joe. There aren't many rides, if any, I would wait an hour to experience. That's why we rope drop it - right after Flight of Passage. Walk on and enjoy the ride.

    The first time I went as an adult my friend/travel planner INSISTED I go on Flight of Passage. I was skeptical because I'm not really a fan of Avatar, but I was blown away. Could not believe how much I enjoyed it! I often have motion sickness issues on screen-based simulators, but the wind and water effects really helped to cut that down. I mentioned it to a cast member on the way out and they said that was intentional.

      I’m a big fan of the ambiance of the park and I feel that’s the most underrated part of it but not much denying it needs atleast one more big ride to draw attention away from the avatar rides so it’s not a 100 min wait for Flight and a 75 for River journey.

    I think they should put more into Pandora. I mean definitely didn’t put in the effort as they did with Star Wars.
    To me for one, it needs the Na’Vi walking around. Which you’d think they can easily pull off.
    If Universal can have Transformers meet and greets. Pandora is just missing something.

    I don't think you can leave Carousel of Progress once it starts. I mean in an emergency you can but the cast member at the beginning always says this is a 20 minute show so basically leave now if you can't sit through it.

    My rank worst to best. I think they all are worth doing at least once. If I didn’t rank it, I don’t consider it a ride. But all shows are also worth it.
    Triceratops Spin- it’s fine, but it’s just worse Dumbo.
    Navi River Journey- 1 beautiful animatronic on an otherwise lacking boat ride
    Dinosaur- fun, but worse Indiana Jones
    Flight of Passage- a solid ride… an extremely overrated ride
    Kali River Rapids- a weak river raft ride, but it’s still Florida heat and the only wet ride in the park.
    Expedition Everest- the best Disney coaster
    Kilimanjaro Safari- the animal ride of animal kingdom

    • @HerHollyness
      @HerHollyness ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100%. I rode it for the first time in my 30s last year (had previously been in my 20s or a teen the last times I visited) and I suddenly felt like I was being thrown around like a rag doll! I got my head caught in a weird position on the backwards section and came out with a really sore neck. It definitely hits different as you age.

  • @catshepherd3102
    @catshepherd3102 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I’d definitely consider the stand-by line on Expedition Everest to be worth it, as long as it’s not longer than about 45 minutes or so. If you’re into Himalayan culture, then I’d say yeah, do the stand-by. Contrast the stand-by line for Na’vi River Journey - no, don’t do it, get Genie+ for that one! The ride needs to be longer but the Na’vi Shaman is _definitely_ worth it! But avoid the stand-by line if at all possible. My party and I were unanimous in that the ride wasn’t worth an hour of walking back and forth, back and forth, back and forth in that labyrinthine and very unremarkable queue.

    My parents took me to It’s Tough to be a Bug in Disneyland when it was brand new. Permanently scared. I’m in my late twenties now and I still have to sit in regular theater seats with my legs pulled up onto the chair or crossed. 😂 I will not subject my toddler to the terror of that show. Maybe 10 and up if you can explain all the 4D effects in advance and they say they want to watch it anyway.

    Flight of Passage is an outstanding ride. Unfortunately, it's a one and done for me. It totally messed with my equilibrium -- to the point I got off the ride and ended up on the ground. I needed help to a backstage chair and eventually made it out of the ride via elevator. I had to spend the rest of the day sitting at a QS restaurant while the rest of my party enjoyed the park. Funny, no other rides at WDW (with the exception of Mission to Mars) cause me issues. It's a really great ride and despite my issues, I'm so glad that I rode it and recommend it even if you motion sickness issues. It's worth it, just plan.

    To me, Kilamanjaro Safari is the best in the park. It's not only the quintessential Animal Kingdom experience but it's a breathtaking expanse of landscaping and a phenomenal collection of animals. I enjoy Flight of Passage and I think it's as good as it gets when it comes to simulator rides. But all simulator rides are limited in terms of what you can experience and what your brain will accept as real. It doesn't crack my top 10 WDW attractions for that very reason.
