I have taken care of my parents until their transition. My children are grown and I have 2 beautiful grandchildren. I travel internationally often but each time I come back home I cry. It’s not enough. I’m happier somewhere else. So I’ve decided to prepare to move abroad. Trying to figure where to move to.

@@AbroadwithSusana I want to enjoy my life. Move somewhere more affordable where I can easily travel from one place to another. Enjoy different cultures and explore this beautiful world.

thank you so much! because I feel sick with this endless guilt that my family makes me feel when tell me numerous times that I throw away all family and I’m awful person because dreaming about moving abroad all my life and now finally I will gather the courage to tell them that I will move abroad.
All family seems so upset about it and I don’t get why because we see each other 1-3 times a year for a few days and that’s it. All this screaming, crying of my family because of this decision makes me feel nauseous.. So thank you for this video, it’s really helpful

Thank you. I have been caring for my 95 year old mom and have done a great job. I want to live abroad after two exploratory trips. She’s in a great home with excellent care. I’m trying to become clear can I live abroad logically and live my life and manage everything from abroad. I’m in mh late 60’s and I’m excellent health. Thank you

I am so glad this short video gave you some clarity 😊 I know what it means to leave parents behind. It sounds like your sweet mum is having excellent care and knowing that you can live your life too will make her happy as well. 🌸 May I ask where would you like to move?

@@AbroadwithSusana yes. I tried slow travel in my last venture staying away from expats. It was far more than I imagined. I love the cultures, happy people, slower pace of life, monumental natural beauty, fresh delicious foods, low cost of living, and much more emotionally available people.
So back to my question, it is possible for me to live abroad and care for my mom with the excellent care she has? Thank you 🙏🏼

@@koufax174 to make that decision, reflect on two main areas. Mindset & Logistics
Mindset for you and your mum. Agreeing on a plan that will work for you to live abroad and for her to live with someone who will take care of her. Make peace with that idea.
Logistics: plan about how often you will call home, or whether will you be visiting, and if so how often. Will you live in a place with easy access to airports, and proper wifi so you can be reached?
Will the person or persons in charge of your mum agree to be part of this plan?
      Reflect on this 😊🌸💕

@@AbroadwithSusana thank you. I forgot to answer your question. I went to SE Asia.
I already have approval from the nurse at my moms wonderful home. I’m working on the last leg of logistics. I can come home every 2-3 months. I can get to an airport within a day or less. I’ve discussed with my mother as well. I will get an iPad so we can communicate regularly. Thank you for taking the time to list the part to consider. I’ve been thinking of this for 1 year and discussed with professionals. ❤️

Both of my daughters are now in college and I immediately started selling everything and cutting financial ties in order to move and follow my passion…
I only feel sad about my aging parents - however staying in the USA is a detriment to my soul …
So yeah I made up my mind even though it’s a bit sad too

    • @AbroadwithSusana

I understand you feeling sad for your ageing parents. Mine are getting old too. But living life fully makes all the sense and you can share it with others too.
My parents have participated in my life experience too by travelling and visiting me wherever I moved. 😊Now is my turn to visit back home as often as I can so we can all feel connected, supported and loved. Hope this helps 😊

I will be leaving soon, however I have 3 children 2 of them are adults the youngest is 3 years old how can I explain to him that he will not be able to see me in person like normal 😢

    • @AbroadwithSusana

@@shaymaarashed6587 my dear, I feel how challenging this move must be for you. Before I share my view on this, I want to clarify that my opinion is based on my experience as an Expat mum for over 25+ years.
I believe that children are more open-minded than adults are. They accept how life is presented to them with more ease than we do. When letting him know about your plans to move, focus on the positive experience he will have. Not the negative consequences he will lack. For example, enhance with positive details his new life adjustment rather than saying he won’t be seeing you. Plan ahead some meetings, either in person or online to share your daily life experiences. From him and from you.
And feel in your body you are doing the right thing so he can sense he is also part of the whole plan.
I would highly recommend contacting an educator and/or a child psychologist to have a more detailed piece of information. And I do want the best for you and your child. Let me know how it goes. 😘
