Thank you so much for this one it worked like a charm, we recently adopted a 6 year old lab and he use to do a lot of demand barking for food, after repeating the trick you told, he has stopped doing that and waits till I ask him to go & eat 😄

Labradors are very fond of food . What you are doing is absolutely right . They simply love food . We had 2 of them . We spoiled them by overfeeding them . We never waited to hear them bark before that the food was served . Good training we appreciate what you are teaching us . Thanks dear

I have a basset hound puppy and he barks for everything!! when its time to eat he barks and barks and barks! Hes so wild, your puppy caught on so quickly i was there waiting for him to stop barking and stay for 40 min before he stayed for a few sec before i put his food down. Im going crazy! I tried looking for a video how to make your dog wait for food and all i got was dogs that were already trained, i wanted to see what it looked like in the beginning and how it would look like after a few try’s and you gave me exactly what i was looking for!!! I appreciate that so much, thank you!! I hope my puppy tank will catch on!!😩

8:15 You made a mistake there. Buddy broke position and you repeated the command. The proper behaviour (yours) would be take him back to his original position on the original place without saying anything or giving away any feeling that you are dissatisfied with him. You taught him, that if he is disobedient you will just repeat the command and there will be no consequences. But otherwise a very good guide how to teach a dog behave. My dog never behaved like this so I didn’t have to bother with this. He always sits and waits till I give him command to go eat. Even if I leave the room without giving him the command, he won’t start eating. He learned that after the first time I made him wait for the food.

Before my 14 1/2 year old fur baby passed (had her since she was 11 weeks old) she didn't want to eat. I really missed her telling me she was hungry. She was well trained just not at meal time LOL

Hi human, i am 3.5 months now but training me for food doesn't mean i am not excited for food. It is just that i am more behaved.

I have a nine years old Lab. She knows well that I wont give her food if she barks. Once while she was barking, I kept her food back. She realised immediately and now she never barks when I am giving her food.
Labs are most difficult to discipline as far as food is concerned. They always seems to be hungry.😁😁

When my dog sees the food, it becomes so hurry....the way he eats is like he have not ate for days...it w/o bark, I am able to touch wherever I want to.....but it eats very fast by .....not calm while eating ,that's what I mean...it won't bark.what to do

Use a slow feeding bowl like the one in the video or else you can pour the food 2-3 times while the lab is eating, this way they eat better.
