Hi, I'm a Bible Scholar and psychologist, and whilst l reckon that's a nice depiction and portrayal in the story of Judah and Tamar & others; and truly, that's exactly what had happened, but you overlooked the secret purpose of God. Here is what l mean, God was using Judah to augment and propagate His spiritual Kingdom, Christ. Remember Judah was the fourth son of Jacob with Leah and he's given the primogenitor because Reuben, the eldest brother, defiled his father bed when he'd intercourse with Bilhah, his father's other wife. Thus, Abraham was the promise and lsaac was the seed whilst Jacob was the execution. It's no wonder, through that intercourse Judah had with Tamar, she'd twins called Perez and Zerah a replica of Jacob and Esau. Perez had the genealogy of Christ, a tree articulated in the last chapter of Ruth 4 verses 16-22 and in the Gospels. The secret purpose of God here was/is Christ and Spirituality, represented by Perez. Remember too that Jesus is called the Lion of Judah. While Zerah was born with a scarlet thread on his hand, signifying humanity or the worldly things that Judah did. Good sermon though!
