    Thank god! I hope more makers latch on to this. I hate when my fingers feel cramped between the guard and a swell at the pommel or when my pinky is has nothing to hold on to. I typically don't find myself wishing for a longer blade but pass on many interesting knives because of inadequate handle length. This is particularly true of folders. IMHO, any type of wood processing requires a full, four-finger grip. I suppose handle length is less of an issue for box opening and game processing but honestly I can use a car key for boxes and I process a LOT more firewood than game.

    Thanks for the review, I wish more knife makers were hip to this idea. I love smaller belt knives but hate the compromised handles. My top pics (and personal rotation) for small idc fixed blade are the Essee Xancudo fixed, Lionsteel M4, Bradford 3.5, WhiteRiver M1 Backpacker AND LT Wright Next Gen. Cheers.

    Geez. I played MechWarrior/Battletech when it was a turn-based quasi-RPG game, but not the console/PC version. I hadn't even thought of it in years. Like an AC20 blast from the past. 😄 Zeke does great work. I have a couple WTGs and they take a beating well and keep on working tuff. Thanks for the look and be well, Aaron.

    This looks very nice with decently thin blade stock. I wish they would offer a version in 14C28N. By the way, the handle scales are common across a number of models (Tayal, Mini-Tayal, Uni-Hart, RedWold, and Timber Wolf), and they offer alternate handle scales.

    It's not unusual to get a full handle, it's normal. What is not normal is knife manufacturers making knife handles to small. I have small hands and you cannot get full range of grips on alot of knives. Saying your pinky finger hangs over the end of a handle is bloody pointless. This looks like a proper knife. Looks like my esee 4 clip point with a full handle! Thanks for showing. I am trying to find a UK dealer. That is a tidy sheath to go with it. A loop of para cord on it to use as a belt loop, for inside waist band carry. I want one!

  • @JamesGMunn
    @JamesGMunn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How is the balance with most of the steel in the handle? The blade height seems too high. So, you end up at a tip with a very large angle that is a bit more difficult to use. They could have shortened it and dropped the flat saber part to give you a more centered to the handle edge. Also, drop about $50 from the price to get any interest from me for a 1095 type blade.

    I really like a lot of WTG designs, however, I think they're getting just a bit greedy with their pricing as of late. While it's a bit longer and uses different material, the Steel Will Roamer R315 is going for just over $50 on Amazon, and is designed for the same types of tasks as the Timber Wolf. Only problem is, it's made in China.

      @@gideonstactical Esee are already slowly phasing out their flat handles. Thicker handle for your large hands sounds good for you but it will leave the others who have medium or small hands behind.
