There are a lot more, like killua being similar to rinku because they both use yo-yos and the beautiful sezuka is a clown like hisoka. Togashi definitely had concepts in yu yu hakusho that he ended up using in hunter x hunter. Chrollo has a similar concept to sensui and meruem kind of reminds me of toguro in some ways. There are also a lot more obvious ones like knuckle and kuwabara.
About Hiei partially correct, regarding the clothes. However I still think Fietan is NOT the reincarnation of Hiei in Hunter Hunter but rather its Karasu. His remorselessness & mercilessness perfectly match Karasu. Killua is the reincarnation of Hiei here.
