They released this right before the Great Recession hit, they only made it for a short time before Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. It's sad because it was such a nice SUV and it could easily compete with the Escalade and Navigator.
Hayden's Productions these would’ve been a hit had Chrysler released it in 2002 or so because luxury suvs were a big thing back then especially the Escalade
This would not have been able to compete with a Escalade or navigator. The interior is too cheap looks like the plastic peices all came from the dollar store
@@MLProductions.1 I was looking at the Escalade and Mercedes when I came across the Chrysler Aspen. After reading a Forbes article on the top 10 depreciating vehicles, I jumped on the Aspen. I walked away with a fully loaded 2008 Chrysler Aspen AWD 5.7L HEMI in Cool Vanilla for $31,600 and a lifetime powertrain warranty. Today, she's still in showroom condition and effortless to drive. I'm SINCERELY hoping Chrysler will bring the Aspen back! Only then will I consider letting it go.
I have a 2009 Aspen Hybrid in the same color. It's got nice TVs in the rear, a nice screen with navigation controls, I did add a K&N filter so it's not fully stock. I take mine on long trips and taking my niece to school.
how reliable has the hybrid been? I kinda wonder about these short-lived hybrids (another example being the Tahoe and Altima hybrid) and if there's enough spare parts and mechanics who can work on em.
Altima hybrid was a Toyota system, same parts as the Camry hybrid and pretty reliable and easy to get parts for. I also wonder about these and the Tahoe, though. Don't know much about them... @@PlymouthNeon
They are a unibody SUV, but still very solid with a 7,400lb towing capacity. They ride nice, have a lot of interior seating/hauling room, and can tow very well. I was kind of sad about the unibody design til I got a bit more familiar with them. I still love my 01 though.
@aiden roose 2008 they redesigned it to teh boxy style. Inside is similar to this and almost looks as if they most definitely could have put it on. Idk why automakers avoid the Column shifter now. Would have fit perfectly.
@stopscrewingaround11 chrysler mo co stoped making magnum engines in 2003, so it's just a regular 4.7, HEMI replaced magnum after the HEMI was out of commision since 1985 due to gov rules chrylsler was not willing to abide by at the time. The 5.7 HEMI is optional on the aspen, this one just didn't have one.
Is chrysler a good company? Becuase all my family members say they are and everyone says the same. Now dont get me wrong im a fords man so is my family the only other company we let in was a mitsubishi lancer. It nice and does the job we want it to do. Its a 2008 holding up pretty good with close to 60grand on the gauge, and only two lock and light problems. Hope for it to last forever. But if anyone could explain is chrysler RELIABILYTY only is a good company?
Apparently, the Chrysler Aspen was not sold very well. Chrysler made these only from 2007 to 2009. Production ended due to poor sales months before Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
+Komodo Khan This is very common. There is a problem with durrangos and aspens. its due to the windshield cowl allowing water to get into the engine. you may notice this after it rains or when the car is washed. get it fixed asap because you can blow your engine if too much water goes inside. google it .
+Joe Billard water in the engine that's why it make the clicking sound in the engine while it's in motion, I thought it was a spark plugs. or a cylinder misfire
i would take it to a mechanic to pinpoint the problem. it can be a spark plug. Water can cause a misfire but the problem might not be related to this on your truck. although it is very common for a misfire to happen on a durrango and aspen due to the windshield cowl alloiwng water into the intake manifold. you can look this up on google. look up dodge durrango windshield cowl problems.
lol I see pop here talking bad of a good ride it has cons but it's good the electronic a.c. of this one is good the one with the lil screen is expensive to fix the engine is pretty good 310hp 4.7 it uses 16 spark plugs like the hemi and this SUV is not as expensive as a Cadillac escalade or a navigator and it handles towing pretty nice

The Chrysler Aspen it's right but, wrong time to released during the economic collapse. Also do all the Chrysler Aspens have a backup system on it ? Now Chrysler is a dying state of a brand. What if Fiat turning the Fiat Toro SUV is a Chrysler Aspen ? Do everyone dropped the Hellcat motor into the Chrysler Aspen or Chrysler Aspen Hybrid ?
Im pretty sure thats a 2007. Chrysler stopped using those keys in 80 and switched to the weird smart tip thing. You remember the key from the 09 challenger? Its the same thing. Im about 90% positive. lol
These did not replace the durango. Dodge still makes the durango, and Chrysler has discontinued the aspen after 2009. Aspens were made from 2007-2009. search it on Wikipedia.
You can see some of the influences of the Chrysler 300 on the vehicle. The vehicle looks hardly used.. I read the other day Chrysler was thinking about bringing this vehicle back.
@DanDFriend yea i was thinking the same thing! I guess Chrysler was bein cheap when they were making this, they used the 4.7L instead of the bigger 5.3L for the V8 Engine. :D
@carguy379 could be are divrince in types and demands and no problem in 1982 golf had larger bumpers in america and european smaller bumpers as a exmaple today don t know
I rented one of these for a long trip. It drove nice but I could not get any better than 14 mpg. It had the 5.2 and sounded great but was super slow. For the money and comparable economy I would get a Tahoe.
@thehulk3010 It actually was a 4.7L. This vehicle was offered with a 4.7L or 5.7L Hemi. The 4.7 is 303HP and sounds great but was slow. This thing wouldnt get a ticket in a school zone. Now that said I hope you are not one of those guys that are just going to go crazy with 4 letter words etc.... Oh by the way the 5.2L was offered in Durangos and 1/2 ton rams. 5.2L = the old dodge 318.
It’s a shame this didn’t last long I heard that bankruptcy was the only reason they discontinued this vehicle apparently people didn’t like this as much as the Durango which I find quite odd I mean yes the Durango is a very fast truck but this is a luxury truck and it’s basically the same thing
That temperature control switch in the front looks like it's from a car from the mid nineties, not something you should find in a 2008 SUV. I've seen the Interior of a 2008 Dodge Charger R/T AWD, Chrysler could have taken the dual climate control from that.
Bring it back, Chrysler!
They will in 2017 (I think).
+XKR1200 Awesome!
XKR1200 nope lol
NOTHING made by Chrysler are good. They're all complete JUNK as certified by Scotty Kilmer. At least the ones during the Fiat era.
I doubt it because towards the end of production they had very poor sales

I like this better than the dodge durango

this thing was basically an upgraded Dodge Durango
Well, generally that's what chryslers are and have been.
Premium versions of Dodges
Nope Dodge shares everything
Yea I Agree It Looks Like It.
The better version of the 2nd gen Dodge Durango that is not kinda ugly.

Yeah I know about those. Thanks anyway. The interior isn’t similar to the newer ones like the Aspen
it would be cool to see a new aspen beaded on the new durango!
what is that tick noise on the engine the timing belt tensioner?
I LOVE MY 2010 ASPEN!!! it's more of a lux. suv
They only made them for 3 yrs 07 to 09
Oh yay! I have been waiting for this thanks Kyle!
@AmericanCars101 they do make aspens still, which replaced the durango.
sounds knackered!!!
Beautiful car
I agree
@stopscrewingaround11 a 5.7 liter HEMI is optional on the aspen, as well as 22 inch chrome wheels.
@Capt421 i agree i enjoy it evry time thank you kyle
@gajda1984 i dont know why I wasting alot of gas when I only drive 42 miles a days, what kind of vehicle you have?
The Chrysler aspen took the shape of the dodge durango.
@stopscrewingaround11 right, the 4.7 is the exact same engine, just isn't calld "magnum" anymore.
I’d love to find one of these that hasn’t been drove into the ground. It would make a good secondary SUV.

is that the same platform as the duragao
I hope they make both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango again on the platform of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
the engine on the 2006-2009 Chrysler Aspen
Engine
4.7 L (287 cu in) PowerTech V8
5.7 L (345 cu in) Hemi V8
This and the Durango were made in Newark, Delaware. Now they sold the building to the university to make research center.
the transmission on the 2006-2009 Chrysler Aspen

5-speed 545RFE automatic
Chrysler needs to make another SUV.
Please do an audi q7 review.
