i always go sealed because the box size of the other enclosures...by the time you get to the size of one ported enclosure you could go with two of the same driver in a sealed enclosure...giving you twice the cone area/excursion/powerhanding of the ported...but if you are looking for efficiency ported is the way to go...as for as which with be the loudest...it depends on the environment...the horn should be louder in a open environment...while the ported should be louder in a suv/truck..i found that sealed enclosure sound louder in trunk applications
That’s what I came to the realization of…. 2 10s sealed will take up same space as 1 10 ported and will be louder. Also hatchbacks and suvs cars have the best cabin sound with ported boxes
Depends on what you're gonna put the box in. In an open environment like your garage the horn box is gonna win. In a vehicle it all depends on cabin resonance
Should prob post this on a newer video but this is the one that pops up on my feed currently.. Got to say although I disagree with you on maybe 10% of the things you make videos on.. I do 100% appreciate all you are trying to to do for the space especially with the topic of efficiency even more so then box building principles.. Simply posting some stuff recently on fb I’ve done for my vehicle, my daughter and my wife’s.. all three completely different applications, needs, budgets and space requirements.. I know have people contacting me to do installs and build boxes for them on the side even know ing this is just a hobby for me. Being 💯 if it wasn’t for you and your inspiration and a lot of what you talk about I wouldn’t have prob gotten back into this nor would I have had the opportunity that is presenting itself to being able to actually do this to make money. Thank you.. Thar said.. come on man.. we know even as good as that 6.5 is.. it’s still a 6.5 and apples to apples it’s not even going to hold bread to some entry 8’s and most intermediate 8’s. It may be good for a 6.5 but between cone are, cost, box requirements (specifically around port sizing for these smaller drivers that need stupid amounts of port) etc 6.5 need to just go away.. and being honest this is closer to most 8’s then a 6.5 when you start getting into cutouts which is how they get that motor force and bigger piston for throw
Fact is just because you don’t like a particular driver size doesn’t mean others don’t, and thusly MANUFACTURERS make them because they obviously sell. I have no say in what companies make I just review them. And the 1506 is the best in its class in my opinion. I can have one …a opinion. Opinions are not based on fact.
So could a horn box for one six fit under a back truck seat? Would there be any advantage to doing that, or would it be less effective in such a confined environment?
I believe the horn is gonna shock some folks.but as always here to learn.great job guys.Md❤
I'm voting for the horn. I've got one and it's incredible.
I 2nd that👍😁
Brilliant video
I want to hear this subwoofer because I was thinking of putting 2 of them in a transmission line box.
As a installer and box builder myself, im gonna say ported is louder. While sealed plays deeper. My opinion. 😂😂😂

My vote is port will win the lows, and horn will be the loudest.
Let's go can't wait I love the testing of different applications in car audio
Very nice my brother
Did you ever make the next video so we I can't find it send me a link
I'm fan of the horn I'm interested in how the seal box is going to be preform

U ah Bad Boy! Preach!!🙂

Lowest frequency response the sealed sub
The loudest at the lowest frequency will be the ported
The loudest one out of all of them will be the horn
Wouldn’t the horn boxes output be more sensitive to the environment it has to perform in than the other two boxes?
what are your thoughts on box with the subs facing the trunk and the port facing into the cabin of the car with the back seat folded down
Cape town watching 🎧
I need one your boxes
Ported will be the lowest and probably loudest at 30hz. But horn will definitely be loudest from 35ish and up
I would love to buy some boxes bro but am in uk you ship them bad boys over here big dawg
I shipp wherever customer pays for
Fire I think for spl the horn and best bass response is the ported
Salute!!🎉
This is a bass Quiz….. But I do know my MBE ported box sounds Great
Ported will be louder I think
💯
Sealed
The horn get louder and lower
33hz
The Ported
This guy has a PhD in bass-tronics. Would be nice if you could throw up some spl graphs for the different enclosures.
Reflex..
The port enclosed
The horn will sound like a bunch of annoying pipe resonances, ie: a really bad transmissionline (qw resonator)
Horn ... 143.2 db...at 32 Hz...!!!!!!
That horn is going to sound off!
