Murudeshwar | Maravanthe beach | Udupi to Murudeshwar road trip | Shiva temple | Complete Guide

Here is my experience on Udupi to Murdeshwar road trip. It is about 100 kms and the drive takes you through several beautiful scenery.
At about 50 kms, make a pit stop at the gorgeous Maravanthe beach. Arabian Sea on one side, Souparnika River on the other side and the backdrop of western ghats makes this NH66 kilometre odd stretch drive a must have experience and it's a visual treat.
There is only one toll on this drive and it costs Rs. 50.
Total time taken - 2 hours
Distance - 100 kms
Murudeshwar Shiva temple:
1. Visit the cave museum under the Shiva Statue. Entry to Bhukailasa cave is Rs. 10 per person. You will be able to hear the mythological story of Ravana and Atma linga and how Murudeshwar came into existence.
2. Take the lift in 249 ft, 20-storied temple tower to enjoy the majestic aerial view of Lord Shiva, Arabian Sea and the city. Charges - Rs. 20 per adult and Rs. 10 for children. Timing: Morning: 7 AM - 12:45 PM, Afternoon: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Go early to avoid rush.
3. Finally visit the main temple for linga Darshan. Temple timing: 6:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 8:15 PM.
Car parking - Rs. 30
There is also a beach right next to the temple where you can indulge in couple of water sports activities.
