Used to see these Kalitta 747s come in back when I was living in Orlando. They and the Virgin Atlantic -400s will always hold a special place in my heart.
I remember these beautiful machines taking off and landing in Venezuela with the extinct airline Viasa, excellent compilation of this wonder, consider making a video of all the generations of 747, from the 100 to the current 8 with all its engine variants, cheers from Venezuela.
So glad to see a 742 still roaring! Oh boy, I remember when I first flew in one back when I was a kid, I felt like I owned the world crossing the pond inside that behemoth.
I was under the impression that the only Boeing 747=200's flying were the 2 Air force One variants & the heavily modified DOOMSDAY plane (Or are there still more outside the USA flying.? )
The White 747 engines are not JT9D. I believe these are General Electric's CF6-50. You can tell by the longer fan cowling. the 747-200 could also be equipped with Rolls-Royce' Trent RB211 but these have even longer cowlings and I don't believe these are RR engines. The last one white with gray belly is Rolls-Royce though. You can see the logo on the cowlings (long cowlings). 3 spools the RRs, quiter too.
And the engine sound is different too. Pitch is deeper with the Pratt. This being said, I concure the classsic is certainly the best looking of all 747s. Perfection, I‘d even say.

I could watch 747s take off and land all day long, such an awesome sight.
So many memories with Kalitta's 742F's - thanks for reminding me, mate!
So great to watch the Kalitta B747, really awesome livery, great video!

Normally fitted with Pratt and Whitteny JT9Ds!!
Like I said once and I'll say it again. The 747 will ALWAYS be the Queen of the Skies😁👍
Thanks Cargospotter. Very well done video. Almost shed a tear, I have a lot of hours in those Kalitta Classics.
Kevin N My dad is a Captain for K4. Maybe you guys know each other.
Sensational video , I love the 747 to me it's the best commercial jet ever created .

That allover white Israeli registered one still seems to be in passenger configuration, or at any rate still has the cabin windows
👑
Que bonito avion
Were those of the Kaliita one in the snow and the Southern Air one at Ramstein or some similar air force base? It looks like a military establishment
Kaliita used to have Newark liberty Airport as hub.
Why are the older CF6 engines so much louder than the later ones?
Noise regulation
Nice

yes, there about 18 B747-200 flying outside of the USA, most of them in the Dubai area.

Yes, that white 742F should have GE CF6-50. The Kalitta at 02:30 has PW JT9D.
