Becoz the potential after the positive terminal is V.....and the total voltage is V volts....so voltage = difference in potential .....as one of the potential is V , so other must be zero to obtain equality

@@abbasmehdi2923 this is mathematically correct..but theroetically if u wanna feel this thing so it is like we assume that the charge is moving from positive to negative..so a charge has Some V joules of potential energy and after giving all of its energy when it comes to negative terminal so it becomes 0 ..therefore the difference in potential energies i.e V joules and 0 joule is V

My question is that V is proportional to I . Then if in series circuit the voltage is decreasing then the current should also be decrease. The how current is constant?

V decreases because R increases not because of change in I. So there is one path only for e- no change in current
