Game recognizes game! I'm just late to the party in showing VSS some YT love. But videos like yours, Nadine's, and Frank Landry's are what have helped to solidify VSS as the "collector's choice" to protect our records.
First, thanks for the compliment. REALLY appreciate that! And two, happy to hear you are trying their product. I'm pretty sure you'll like it. Please reach out if you have any questions either here or my IG page - happy to share my thoughts + experiences!
Appreciate that sir! I think my next one (next Sunday) is my personal best. One of the biggest channels in the VC. Pod (audio) drops tomorrow. #deeptease
VSS .. I have heard of these, luckily they look very similar to one ones I use.. So I can easily switch over to theirs and it would be a good blend ! Thanks, Chance.. 🤚
Thank you sir! Sounds like you've got a good thing going on your storage already. It's an under appreciated part of collection - how we care for the vinyl to make it last longer, and that 100% extends to the sleeves we use. Have a great rest of your weekend!
The VSS inner sleeves are much better than the MOFI ones! No static at all while my experience with Mofi is a static-fest! I regularly buy from VSS and have all sorts of various versions, including 7", 10" and Box Set ones for One-Steps! Great products.
100% agree - great, great products. Also feels good supporting a smaller company and one that is responsive to their customers. Seems like that little bit of customer goodwill is missing from some of the other players out there. Really appreciate you watching!
Awesome video!! I love the Vinyl Storage Solution sleeves i have! Personally I dislike the extra pockets because I really dislike not being able to see the back of the jacket! So i get the 4 mil which are the best sleeves I’ve ever tried! Excellent interview bro👍🤘🤘
Thanks Aaron! Totally get the extra pocket not being your flavor. I felt the same way about the gatefold sleeves - just not for me. But the clarity of the sleeves is unmatched, and sounds like those 4mil are your go to. Love it! Side note, I tagged your in a recent "records by decade" tag via Spinz Vinyl. I am super curious how far your collection can go back (if you choose to participate - no worries if not). Talk soon!
@@ConcertBuddie cool, I missed the tag ! My collection only goes back to the 60’s because i don’t like much of any pre Beatles music but i do have old ‘78’s that are shellac !I’ll check it out! Cheers to you👍🤘🤘
I have been using them since I saw the Channel 33rpm video. These are so great. I have been putting all my high dollar records in them for now and have slowly been replacing everything. They are great!
I already heard this interview on the podcast! Great interview and yes Vinyl Storage Solutions is my go-to for inner and outer sleeves! BTW I think it’s a mistake on their inner slaves to eliminate the arrows across the top! I can’t tell you how many times those have helped me align my inner sleeves in my dual pocket sleeves properly!
Hahahaha. Yes, I double dip on the pod/channel. Some people tell me they prefer to see my goofy face during these interviews over the convenience of the pod - who knew? But I appreciate you hitting both up Matt! And yes, I knew you knew your stuff when I saw you using VSS in your videos. One of many collectors I have been lucky to get to know during this VC journey who are smart to their product. Talk soon!
I don’t use VSS, I use whatever my local store has but they did have a lot of types of products. Nice discussion and good questions Chance. You know how to keep the conversation going.
I’ve been searching for the the right sleeve for UHQRs, One Steps and miscellaneous box sets. I will definitely check the VSS site. Thanks for the discount code! 👍🏻
I'm very interested in buying some of these sleeves and have been for the last year or so. But I think when I first was looking, I believe it was the other owner that had the website and I was having a hard time determining prices. It was starting to look like it was going to be rather expensive. I usually buy about 200 - 400 of the 3 mm regular sleeves every 6 months. I don't necessarily need the Vinyl Solutions sleeves for every album but there are many that I do want the more protective and better sleeves for. Especially for things like the trifold albums. I'm glad you have this interview you just uploaded Chance and I'm just getting started on it now. Hopefully I'll learn what I need to and depending on the price hopefully I'll be purchasing some with the VCP10 code ✔️ I recently heard these are being sold on Amazon now too? I haven't looked yet but I'm going to take a look just to see what prices they go for there if they do sell them. Everybody that uses them on their TH-cam VC channels shows me they really must be good plus the albums in the sleeves look so much better than the ones would just the cheap, 3 mm regular sleeves. They look form-fitting and I like that. Especially since they reportedly protect the corners of the albums also. Anyhow, I'm going to shut up but I just wanted to say thanks for doing this interview so I can learn some more! Are they going to be at the Austin Record Convention do you know? Oh yeah, and I do have one question hopefully you can answer. Where it's talking about the single flap or double flap protective sleeves, are they talking about the sticky surface flaps that close and can be reopened? I personally don't like those sticky surfaces and the stickiness wears off after a while. I saw some that looked like they were referred to as resealable and I'm wondering if those have like a Ziploc type resealable method used? I can't see the pictures very well with my vision so I thought I would ask. I'm still trying to figure what the double flaps do exactly? Is it two individual pockets for putting a 2xLP album set into two separate pockets that can be sealed? And if so, I'm guessing they make 3 and 4xLP protective sleeves as well? I was just looking at the clear sleeves he was talking about but I'm not 100% sure if I'm understanding what those are for correctly? I'm wondering if I can just use some of the regular, cheaper poly sleeves and put two LPs into one pocket if I'm using a double pocket, double flap protective cover or would the second LP not fit well, out of 3 LPs, if I'm trying to put it into a pocket that already has an LP in it? I hope this makes sense the way I'm saying it. I like putting my vinyl, in my current way of doing things, into a vinyl LP poly sleeve and then putting them into the 12.75" protective sleeves that I've been buying over the last few years. I like to keep the LPs on the back side of the album cover itself and I can usually put four individually poly sleeved LP's into the back of one of the cheap 3 mm 12.75"elder LP cover sleeves with no problems. It works good but it would be really nice to have each LP in a pocket of its own which it sounds like Vinyl Storage Solutions is made to do. If what I said makes any sense, and if you can help explain, thank you and I appreciate it! This goes to anybody who might can help me understand how it works exactly. Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
Hey Brian! I'm surprised to hear they are being sold on Amazon. My guess is it is a third party buying them from VSS and selling in their store on Amazon. I do not think they will be at the Austin Record Convention. Sorry! They have different enclosure to seal/close the sleeve, but the one I use is the one with tape on the flap (not the body - but they offer that too). They did at one point have enclosures that you could simply tuck inside the sleeve. Those might be more up your alley. The double pocket concept is that once the jacket of the record is sealed in the sleeve, the record can then be stored/removed from the 2nd pocket behind the jacket for easy access while still keep the album jacket/art sealed and protected. You'll still need a good poly inner sleeve too, but the quality of these VSS outer sleeves with dual pockets is the best in the business. Some people prefer the Japanese-style sleeves - those have never been my thing because it can get messy opening then re-opening the flaps all the time. With these VSS sleeves, it removes the open/re-open conundrum with that additional pocket. Hope this helps, and hope your weekend is treating you great sir!
Hi Dave! Actually those are different sleeves. solid sleeves, no doubt, but as I'm moving my entire collection over to VSS sleeves (slowly), that's where you are getting the benefit of the change! and more coming you way before too long Buddie!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve never been a fan of rounded sleeves from any manufacturer. I prefer the square look on inners and outer alike (just my two cents). 😎
VSS products are inconsistent. Quality has really gone downhill. Sizes are inconsistent, line marks in the poly, Permanent water spot marks in the poly. I've bought several different versions of the product and every time I bought from them, the size of the sleeve would be different the last time I bought from them. Even the gatefold sleeves bad. One side of the gatefold is longer than the other. The flaps are cut wrong, and the edges are sloppy. I've had them replace several orders in the past, but now I won't buy from them anymore. I have found a good company in England that makes a great tight sleeve. I
Appreciate you sharing this. I am not a fan of the original gatefold, but outside of one instance, the quality of the dual pocket sleeves has been so,I’d (for me). Can I ask what the name of the company you’ve found in England is? Would enjoy learning about them, thanks!
Big fan of VSS! Love the 3mil inners and the dual pockets! Great interview, good job Chance!
