Awesome video. As an engineer and DIY auto mechanic I'm ashamed of myself for not having this on hand already. I just ordered some using your affiliate link ;) Thanks for posting, great job!

I'm going to go crazy with one of those tubs of plastic. Awesome idea! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked the video!
I watched this video and then used this product as a temporary fix for a missing chunck out of a vinyl floor tile. I used powdered pigment to color the plastic to match the tile color and it works perfect. It snugly fits and it did not shrink as it hardened. I had 1 tile that was damaged and now I don't have to buy a whole box of tiles to fix it. I wanted the fix to be cheap, not stinky, and not goopy. I had been looking for a solution for awhile before I found this video. Thanks for sharing.

Good video , thanks for sharing .
Im not sure of this product can be used as mother mold / support shall .
I will try to do that soon .
It's very similar to Teflon the surface so I don't think too much is going to stick to it. As long as you don't get the mold hot it will retain the shape. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video boss ! 👍
Question : I want to build a press mold . How strong is that compare to HDPE plastic ?
Amigo, this is extremely useful, and I thank you for sharing this with us all!

It's really useful, it cam really be in handy in some situations!
Yes! It must have thousands of uses.
The uses are endless. :-)
This was an awesome video! I could probably use this instead of using resin to cast plastic parts from a silicon mold. Genius! Subbed and liked!

Very nice! I like this idea better than heatshrink because of certain tight areas especially electronics. Cheaper than liquid electric glue. And doesn't go off in a month. I want to make plastic safety catch ! Can your pour it into a mold ? Looks easy to shape.
Polycaprolactone aka Polymorph pellets, you can get it 100g at 0.70$ from aliexpres great stuff
what about thinner and polyestirene? Its really flamable, pero once it dries its quite solid and flexible and sticks very well.
@@laharl2k I made some Polystyrene by melting it with acetone, not the nail polish remover, it gets a viscosity like honey, it can be poured in gypsum molds. But it stinks, you need to do this outdoor or wear a respirator with a chemicals removing filter. It melts in gasoline too but takes mutch longer until it hardens. The stuff shown in the clip is nice , you can remove it with just a cup of 60C degree water. I have used silicone before to make a coat for my arduino data loggers but its a pain to remove it, polystyrene is like forever, you dont wanna expose plastic components to acetone.
That stuff would definitely come in handy. Thanks for the vid.

Hello. Good video with useful ideas. I am wondering... When you melted it to the flat metal it did not stick, but when you melted it to the end of the screw, it did stick? I’m looking to see if I can melt it to the end of a bolt to screw it on and off as needed. Any suggestions on how to get it to NOT stick to the bolt? Thank you.
NOTE: I actually would like to make a mold for both the bolt and the bolt insert/hole. It would be nice if I can those two pieces to screw together. Maybe I need more research if planning on trying that.
Awesome, one quick question can I add color to get black or some other color?
Seems I can't get parts for a handheld that's around 10 years old and I need to repair but I'd really love to remake the part from scratch in some kind of form.
cool material. i usualy use bubble gum or hot glue on some things since they are chaper but yours is good for specific jobs. :) Sometimes i melt platic outdoors witha fan if i need to fix something. :)
Amigo, reading your comment made me laugh. It is good to know that I am not the only nut out there to have discovered the many uses of bubblegum... A stick of Big Red will harden to a serious weld over time. But If it is a serious problem, I sometimes bust out with the Big League Chew...

I'd like your recommendation. I want to coat a set of pliers with a heat resistant plastic. At work, I have to solder thick gauge wires to tabs, that are welded to batteries, and I keep damaging the wire sheathing with regular pliers. I've tried to file smooth any sharp edges on the pliers, but in time I end up damaging the wire sheathing. I started using this PLASTI DIP Plastic Multi Rubber Grip Coating for Handles. It works but in time, it wears out and the metal of the pliers gets exposed. Do you know of a plastic mix product I can use to coat the business end of pliers, and have some average heat resistance. And if that's not hard enough, it has to be inexpensive. I don't need a large amount, just enough for a couple of pliers.
Good info as usual. Keep'em coming Doug.
Thank you Steve!

Wow thanks a ton! That stuff looks great I'll definitely order some because I have some car parts that it should work perfectly on! Is there a higher temp version or something similar? Unfortunately I live in Texas and car parts (especially around the engine) can easily get too hot which is why, like you said, electrical tape isn't a good solution! Thanks again and God Bless!
Only the one temp version.
Excellent and very useful video, Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Mike!
Thank you
You're welcome Tom. Be sure to check out my very wide range of videos and share. Thank you
Looks like Great stuff ... but can it be used to cast small gears to replace worn out ones..If only ???
It's not low enough in viscosity to do that, but if you forced it into a mold, it would work. Thanks for watching!
Could you drill and tap this material? Or file a hole with a machine screw in it and then remove the screw? Thank you
Thank you for sharing, great info!
You're welcome! Please share. Thanks
Where is video prescription area? I want to buy this product. I cannot find the link!
Wow. Great video. looked it up on Amazon, and found lots of other brands. Thermomorph (same specs) for example has 631 reviews rather than 21 for Polymorph, and is higher rated. Have you tried other brands, and are they equivalent? There are numerous uses for me that I can think of, and plan to obtain such a product! Thanks again for the video.
It's all the same stuff. I posted a link that was the cheapest for 1 pound.

Awesome video. Thanks for sharing! Does it adhere to other plastics very well? I have a broke tab to keep a cover on, and one the plastic tabs are broken.TY
Unfortunately it doesn't stick to other plastics too well. Thanks for watching!
Make a whole new cover.
Great video and tip, thank you!

@@electronicsNmore I subscribed. l am particularly interested in how to use Thermoplastics with electronics. I wish I used this plastic years ago. It would have helped fabricating my electronics projects
Good info very useful
Thanks Ed!
Great video
You could make some good guitar picks
Exactly what I thought. :-)

I need to make replacement heels for road cycling shoes can polymorphe thermoplastic be glue with epoxy and drilled ? I'd be gluing and fixing with a tiny wood screw , thanks in advance for the reply ..
The material is very slick like HDPE, so you'd have trouble gluing it. Drilling is not a problem.
Great video!
Do you think it's likely to be possible to form a strip (or sheet) of Thermomorph/Polymorph with some kind of fabric reinforcement incorporated into it, for strength?
I'm trying to fix a cracked polystyrene fridge drawer, but need something with some shear resistance.
Look for a thin sheet of the same plastic, then bond it using the proper adhesive.
So this plastic material should be sturdy and strong enough to straighten and protect the cord of a phone charger, correct? If so, that would help from having to get new charger cords so frequently
Yes, should work extremely well for that. Thanks for watching! Be sure to look over my extensive video playlists below for many other videos of interest to you, and most importantly share.

How strong/hard would it be at 1/32 inch in width?
More ideas you can find on my channel. Or on my german channel Pat Wallaby.
The stronger kind of polymorph is not that sticky and keeps shape much better.
What if I want it to withstand more than 60 degrees , is there any other material to mold it?
I have a Piper willowbrock figure with a mismatch pony tail
I have a mirror frame with a missing decorative motif, and I want to duplicate a small section of the frame by making a mold and then casting the missing piece in resin. Can this material be used to make a mold? It would need to release from the mirror frame once it was pressed into place to form the mold.
Hello Sue. It could be used, but it's not the ideal thing to use. You need dental alginate, it works perfectly for what you want to do. Make the mixture a little thinner, avoid getting air bubbles trapped. Thanks for watching!

@@electronicsNmore Many thanks!
Do you know if this will bond to HDPE or cross-link poly?
It's not designed to stick to other plastics, but i have a black plastic spoon that it sticks to extremely well. I have no idea what the spoon is made of. Thanks for watching!
Try polybonder
I have a feeling these are the same material as hot glue. And you can do all these with hot glue.
No. Different material.
Where do you buy these nylon beads
Hi Mike. There's a link in the video description area. Thanks for watching!
What's the name of this material??? Where can I purchase it?
Should be a link posted in the video description area. Thanks for watching
excellent. Where do I get this material?

I just wondering if it’s toxic. For example it I want to make just a keychain
Non-toxic
How long does it take to dry hard?
It can set up instantly once it's cool
Do you know if there’s a way to harden (more) a 1/32” thin piece?
Too thin, it will definitely be flexible.
@@electronicsNmore Tried dipping it in freezing water immediately after heating, kind of worked but nothing really significant 😐
Ware and what is the beads sold and what they called
Look in the video description area.
I this not just hot glue?
Can you make a palatable shape into a drinking bottle?
You can make many shapes.
wow,
If it was good for electrical wires we would be using this in the aerospace industry.. which we don't do is not a good idea and solder is better if you know how to solder correctly.
Can this be used on the ends of usb cables or will it be too hot for it?
Yes
Good idea
Kind of looks like hot glue when it's melted and soft.
Agree
Low cost? $18 per pound? WAY more expensive than they should be. If anyone finds a cheaper source, please post the link here.
For what it does, it's cheap.
+1
