Algebra I on Khan Academy: Algebra is the language through which we describe patterns. Think of it as a shorthand, of sorts. As opposed to having to do something over and over again, algebra gives you a simple way to express that repetitive process. It's also seen as a "gatekeeper" subject. Once you achieve an understanding of algebra, the higher-level math subjects become accessible to you. Without it, it's impossible to move forward. It's used by people with lots of different jobs, like carpentry, engineering, and fashion design. In these tutorials, we'll cover a lot of ground. Some of the topics include linear equations, linear inequalities, linear functions, systems of equations, factoring expressions, quadratic expressions, exponents, functions, and ratios.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Thanks a lot Salman Khan Sir:)
May God Bless You.......!
God bless u bro u helped me so much
Wow! Outstanding.
Hey I know thats it is 3 years later, but why did you use -2 to positive 2?...can't you use any other numbers?...
Yes we can use any number, it's just that we can easily represent the graphs with small numbers.
thank you i really needed this
who else is here watching this in 2022??
Thanks
X squared = Parabola
Thanks! Humein to pata hi nahi tha!
Does it matter what numbers you use in tge table of values... If doesn't will my graph be different than any other graoh with different numbers.. Someone please help
Ibracobra to find the *vertex* use *-b/2a*
X coordinate can be found by formula -b/2a. Then substitute there value of x into the original equation. You will get the y coordinate of the vertex.
Ilove it. thanks
omg ty so much
I don't get it :(
The Lux you probably got it by now since this comment was 4 YEARS AGO.
guys can you answer this? y=-x^2+4
lmao i have to do that for my class except its y=x^2-4
Honestly better then my teacher lol
i don't understand i don't understand i don't understand i don't understand
I'm not an expert at this, but to help you out, I've noticed if your x is squared, then negatives and positives will be the same. So in his example: -3x^2 +8, -1 would have the same value as 1
me ayudaste muchísimo!!! gracias por el video :)
perdón por comentar en español, mi ingles es realmente malo :v
How do you do the reverse of this?
It's been 8 years lol.
I love this channel with every fibre of my being
nice~ this clears up some questions. thanks
Thanks! Helped alot.
omg awesome video you deserve a legit like
m8 i had a whole APIFFANY when u explained it
I finally understand thank you
That Graph is perfect
If it’s -3 how do you know it’s going to open down...?
Aryan Ramdaras I know I got that now but thx!
