$10k is a lot of money for something that does not spark joy/take your breath away. I sold my chanel classic flap for this very reason. I used the proceeds to buy Apple and sp500 etf stocks! 😂 it gives me joy to see my brokerage account go up
Agree. These non quota bags have no investment status and for a non formal bag, there are many other bags can serve the same function. Go for the real investments and bitcoin.
lol you know my feelings about the mini lindy which i also have, in gris meyer. it’s a v functional and practical bag but design wise it is so featureless it is obnoxiously expensive. and ever since i bought the lv side trunk, which is less than half the price of the mini lindy, I’ve used it much more. TLDR, the problem with the mini lindy is just that it’s too pricey for what it is.
I understand everything you are saying and it resonates with me. I just sold my Lindy 26 and my mini Lindy is on the chopping block also. I want to really get my Hermès collection down this year. I think now I’m able to do so since I’m less blunt from Hermès.
I think it makes absolute sense. I can see you using the funds and getting something else that makes you jump up and down with money to spare. You might be unsure right now but I don’t see you missing it once it’s gone. Plus it wasn’t a bag you were super excited to get to begin with. I could be wrong. Just go with your heart! 🖤🖤🖤
Hi Kat, i’ve watched your Hermes bag reviews whilst deciding which bag to go for myself. And while the birkin is a more well known status symbol, it’s simply not a design i enjoy compared to the Kelly 25. Watching this video made me realize that it’s not worth getting something just for the sake of owning a prestigious brand’s piece. Aside from the Hermes Kelly, my dream bag is a Lady Dior and i don’t mind getting it regardless of the terrible resale value, because it sparks me joy, and i get excited every time i simply look at it. If the mini lindy makes you feel ‘meh’ , then it is simply not worth it, regardless of price. My humble opinion is to let it go and have the 5th spot be something you look forward to wearing. Hope this helps you in your decision❤
I think you had a great thought process and you’ve already knew what you want and what you want to do. But what makes you doubt or hesitate? What do you like about the mini lindy that will make it special to you enough that you will regret if you sell it? You know it’s a functional everyday bag but you probably know there are other choices that serve the same purpose at different price points and some can even elevate your look rather than the bag wearing you. You also know that you’re only happy with it because of the feeling of owning a H bag or another H bag rather than from the use and enjoyment of the bag. Ultimately, you may want to set some criteria for keeping a bag vs selling so you won’t regret your decision and can move on. Everyone’s criteria will be different and it’s difficult to judge or advise based on personal preferences. If what I said don’t make any sense to you or anyone, please just ignore my yapping. 😅
Hi. I have same situation I have far too many bag, I have trimmed it down for half but I want to do it further for around 20 bags , I have two mindy Lindy I am thinking to sell the one I have used , the other one just sits inside the cupboard , recently I just use my mini Kelly and Kelly 25 , all birkin and Chanel bag just sits inside inside cupboard too , I also agree LV is more suitable for daily life but I also feel so loud too , I think if you think you are not going to use it , sell it but the currently resale market in uk , not very good at the money but Hermes always good .❤
I think if you use this bag a lot on a daily basis then you should keep it. Yes it’s expensive and yes it’s a workhorse and not that special looking, but it’s still gorgeous quality and very well made that will last for many years to come. I think our luxury bags should serve different purposes, some are special occasion (like your box Constance), but some are for running errands! It’s nice to enjoy a bit of luxury running errands too! If anything, we need a bit of luxury when doing mundane everyday things, more so than the special occasions! ❤❤❤ you have a beautiful collection!
It sounds like you like the bag, it is just a guilt that’s getting on you. If you’re selling it and ended up in another process of trying to find another perfect bag that works for you then I don’t think it’s worth it. At the end of the day, you might think you should have kept mini Lindy. Maybe what you can do is to try to find a replacement bag and let this sit on the shelf for a while. If you did not reach for it for a period of time, then you can consider getting rid of it.
I vote sell. If the bag was not so expensive then it wouldn't matter but for that amount of money you should be thrilled to carry the bag all the time. Maybe trade for an Evelyn TPM, those are so cute.
As much as I want to say declutter and get the money back (it is a lot of $$ even if can sell at $7K), I still love the mini lindy and this is definitely a bag that just "work" for my lifestyle. As a metropolitan city gal/guy, I enjoy this as it holds a lot and is a work horse in my collection (especially in those hot and humid weather). If you are not really in a rush to sell, I would recommend you pack it away for 1 or 2 months, set it and forget it. If you think about it during that "cool off" period or if you go back in and want to use it, then it's best you part ways with something else that doesn't have that effect. I regret sold so many bags before, that's why I now take this approach to ensure I'm not just going along with what other people suggest me to do. If I don't think about it for over 2 months, that bag is as good as gone for me :D.
Happy Lunar New Year! Yeah, let it go. The Mini Lindy is a quirky looking bag. It’s really not that cute looking when wore crossbody. I think we hesitate to sell bc it’s H but if it was any other brands, I doubt we would think twice on it.
Happy New Year, Kat. Sounds like the bag doesn’t spark joy for you. Since you are thinking about narrowing down your collection, I think it should be one of them to let go.
Mini Lindy has been on my wishlist before was even release. I have gotten Qb but not this bag. But I totally agree that bag is not outstanding for the price.
I am so happy you are doing this video. I’m going through the same thing. I’m thinking of selling my Kelly 32 but I purchase from boutique. I don’t carry much but owning it makes me feel so good and they take forever to achieve. I’m thinking of letting go my Chanel Jumbo that I purchased from Chanel in 2015 but the prices are outrageous if I have regret. I don’t know what to do😂.
Let it go. It’s too expensive to keep a bag that you feel blah about. If I remember correctly, you were never really a fan of this bag’s aesthetics but it grew on you? You had a good run with it . Move on. (Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of the Lindy) I am interested in your gold K25 tho 😂
I love your bag! Something I want but can’t seem to locate in the store! (I don’t buy preloved bags.) I get what you are saying… if you think you can recoup that money and use it on something meaningful I would sell it. On the other hand, you said this is a bag you reach out for a lot. So that would mean you really like it so maybe it is okay keep using it and you get the cost per wear down :):) I have a lot of bags and defin I appreciate the bags I reach out a lot. I want to sell the ones that I don’t reach out for more. However when I look at the preloved market, can’t really get a good price (mostly at a loss) so I just let my bags sit in the closet 😂
I think this Lindy is very much your daily style, a practical little bag for racing around town, very casual looking. I just bought a small Loewe hammock for a similar look as, sadly, my finance goals don’t feature H purchases. I find Loewe spendy 😅. Oftentimes when you talk about your H bags, it comes across (to me, cannot speak for others) as if you bought them as monetary investments rather than an investment in your wardrobe. You appear to love the feeling they give you but are scared of marking them because should you get bored, which we all do at some point, and choose to resell, you won’t make top dollar. If you decide it was more a monetary investment, flip it sooner rather than later. They seem to be more of a burden to many who buy them rather than an effortless, free and easy bag to wear.
Hermes bags wear better in the long term! Better than buying a bunch of LV and Fendi (which also can add up) 😂 it’s only worth selling if you really don’t like it anymore!!
I don't understand that you get excited about the bag and later regret and thinking of selling it. Just keep to your curated Hermes collection. And enjoy it. Period
It’s not the best looking bag tbh. There are so many others that are more visually appealing. Sell it! 😁 Now, on another subject, do you have any restaurant recommendations in Singapore for the best Chinese food and Dim Sum? I’ve researched many Michelin Star ones that might be overrated and others that could be just as good 🤷♀️ DM me if you have time please? Thanks 🥰
Swee Choon is pretty popular with locals, Wah lok at Carlton hotel is higher end and it’s not bad too . Need more? I find Seth lui’s recommendation not bad , not all but a good start sethlui.com/best-dim-sums-singapore-guide/
@ thankyou so much! 😁 I might see you in Singapore soon at Hermes 😉 If you have a good S.A. there and which store is best in your experience please let me know 😁 I’ll need all the help I can get 🙏 👜
Get rid of it😅 try something from Celine! I totally get you when you talk about how a bag should elevate your outfit but not to a point of where it also outshine you and stands out more than you.
No, don’t sell it, you might regret it later 😢 Lindy is one of the bag on my wishlist but I want a bigger one say 26 or 30, its expensive but it’s such a great size bag compared to having a Chanel (even though I still love Chanel a lot)
Sell it. No brainer. It shouldn’t be bringing you so much stress. Safe most of the money. Invest jn a future Hermes bag. The rest buy a fun reasonable luxury bag that you can enjoy on the daily ❤❤
It is a useful bag. You can let go K25 first and slow down your spending so you may feel better. I think you feel guilty because of box C18 and AP watch bills are sooo big! I curated my bags few years ago and now I hv 16 lux bags. (9 H, 4CC, 2 old LV and 1 Goyard). And I think I have enough bags. Never feel purse peace like this before.
It’s nothing wrong but I think ur values r not quite in line with Hermes idea. I think Hermes idea about its wares are for daily use. Like high quality high priced items that can stand the “daily battling”. It won’t be about high priced for occasional bags. Actually “counter-intuitively” occasional bags should be low priced. Coz the usage is not so much. Nonetheless, should you choose to sell it, it should be because you don’t like it enough.
Even though it’s a great bag, I would let it go if it doesn’t make your heart sing. It’s too costly as an everyday bag. Use the money for something else you really love instead.
Kat after following you for years, it’s without a doubt you are not a kelly girl. Even your old Kelly retourne didn’t work for you. Sometimes we have to pay to learn from our mistakes.
"The great awakening" 😂 going thru d same phase too ! do share more along this line of thought. Hapoy Lunar New Year Kat ❤
$10k is a lot of money for something that does not spark joy/take your breath away. I sold my chanel classic flap for this very reason. I used the proceeds to buy Apple and sp500 etf stocks! 😂 it gives me joy to see my brokerage account go up
That is such a smart move! 🤩
Ditto this comment...

No... It's so useful.. I missed it for my Japan trip and it can hold so much things. I plan to bring it for my Europe trip this year.

Oh no! Not the mini Lindy!! That’s my favorite usable Hermes bag, but I totally get what you’re thinking and do what you feel best for you.

Don’t sell it Kat! I think this mini Lindy suits your lifestyle. You may regret once is sold like the Prada one 😢
Happy Lunar New Year ..I love my mini Lindy..and would love to have one in black.
I vote sell. If the bag was not so expensive then it wouldn't matter but for that amount of money you should be thrilled to carry the bag all the time. Maybe trade for an Evelyn TPM, those are so cute.

That is so true! I sold my Lindy 26 and consider selling my mini too. It’s not that cute of a bag. 😂
Happy New Year, Kat. Sounds like the bag doesn’t spark joy for you. Since you are thinking about narrowing down your collection, I think it should be one of them to let go.
Keep the Hermes bag as it’s hard to come by and sell one from another brand that you know you don’t use much.
Wow gold K25 is a dream bag ❤
How about Birkin 25 in Etoupe colour that in your wishlist? Will it be the 5th spot? Or u reckons too many Birkin 25 in your collection?
Possible! Not sure if too many will happen though 😅
Mini Lindy has been on my wishlist before was even release. I have gotten Qb but not this bag. But I totally agree that bag is not outstanding for the price.

Ugh, we are on the same boat. It’s literally either jump n down or jump n touch land lol 😂
I think you are right. I would sell the mini lindy buy a black loewe mini puzzle as a kaikai bag and enjoy the rest of the money.
Love the puzzle bag
Sell it if you dont reach for it or you dont see yourself keeping
It for the next 5-10 years . Goodluck! Happy Lunar New Year ❤

I don’t know why I think the silluete of speedy or boston is prettier than lindy 😂
No. It is a great bag. On my list....
Listening to you, I think you want to let it go ♥️
yes let it go.
Sell..... buy something will make you MORE HAPPY

No!!!!! It’s a classic you will regret
I would let it go.
Keep it
Don’t sell it!
do what best for you
