That’s a really valuable video: watching a master diagnose a problem. Not knowing what is wrong, but knowing what should be happening, and coming up with a hypothesis to describe the incongruity. Thanks for posting!
I’ve had the no lock 340PD over 10 yrs & never a problem of any kind. That said it has not been shot much and mostly w/standard pressure thirty-eight. Magnum loads produce too much recoil for quick & accurate follow up shots.
Mine broke after 26 shots. Hammer, trigger and cylinder locked up. They replaced everything but frame, cylinder and grips. Yes even the barrel was replaced leaving a large splinter at the forcing cone. I will never trust s&w again.
Great video, Not that I would ever try this on my own lol, I just purchased a SW340PD and I would like to use Moonclip type of speed loaders and I am hearing the revolver isn't designed or made for them, someone suggested to mill the Titanium cylinder and I am afraid to alter the revolver and make it unsafe , As a Gunsmith can I respectfully ask your opinion. Thank you kindly for your opinion and your video. All the best to all who are reading this.
Ammo Pod (Speed Loader) Caliber .38 Spl / .357 Mag, 5-Shot, fits S&W J-Frame and Ruger LCR I use these for my m&p 340. A little tight near the grip. But i have altamount wood grips and could clearance if i wanted

That is a fairly standard conversion. I recommend TK Customs - they specialize in exactly that. www.tkcustom.com I think.

@pizzaduder
Appreciate the suggestion 🙏
Light frames and heavy loads equals short life.😖
