Yeah I walked the bridge last night from the evergreen point freeway station to the uw. Also keep in mind that the trail will ultimately extend to east lake as the 520 construction progresses

I look forward to when they extend the trail to Eastlake, but it looks like it's not going to be completed anytime soon.

That’s a great tip for finding that little turnoff toward the light rail/520 Trail connection.

I know someone who had created an official-looking sign and placed it there to help people find the light rail access, but the sign didn't last very long. Could be an opportunity for another locally created sign :)

For the 3rd route, I like to take a right a little earlier on NE 24th St. I know the first route is popular, but I haven't tried that one.

I thought about using NE 24th St for the 3rd route, but I didn't like the fact that the 24th St section is sharrows with a few hills and curves. I figured having people use the buffered bike lane then new wide side path would be better.
For the flattest/most direct route, it has great utility, but I don't think most people are as familiar with it. You should try it sometime!

Looks like Bellevue has a long way to go to protect bikers.

When going the opposite direction, Google Maps suggests going UW, university bridge, then around I-5 to the south, is it right?

That route is doable and is somewhat popular with cyclists, but you'll have to either deal with no bike infrastructure (for the next few years at least) on Eastlake Ave or multiple turns/hills on the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop. It depends on your comfort level when riding with car traffic. I chose the Burke-Gilman Trail & Westlake Cycletrack route since it has safer infrastructure.
