    Thanks for the warning, was going to buy a few of these (they are going on sale at Costco in Canada shortly). I see other videos that suggest entirely removing the motion sensor modules with a soldering iron which seems to work.
    edit: actually, the ones going on sale shortly do not have the motion sensor, so hopefuly they do not have this problem at all.

    Excellent video. This would explain why I’ve had constant 5Ghz issues with my clients. Question regarding other lights with motion sensing capability - do they all use the same frequency as these? Or is that per manufacturer?
    ETA: looks like it depends on the type of motion sensing tech. These lights use radar style.

    Just an update, if anyone is curious, I ripped out the microwave motion sensor transmitter and have been using the light for over 2 years without interference. However, just this week the light started to dim by half without pressing any buttons and also will no longer turn on/off by the remote without pressing the button dozens of times, even with new batteries. Something inside is failing and I am unsure if it was caused by the removal of the microwave antenna or just the natural course of time.

    I like mine it is installed in a shop far from the house so the WIFI does not reach out to the lights luckily.

    I agree, the lights are pretty decent. I have an issue where one light just won't turn off. I thought it was the second hand on my (very near by) wall clock, but no. I swapped lights and the problem is still present in a different light. It's something to do with the position and and maybe having a second light connected. Sometimes the light works well for days then suddenly stops turning off. Great lights but many little issues. I'm close to removing the wifi & motion sensing and just wiring in a switched outlet. I never actually had a wifi issue tho. That's new to me. Cheers and thanks for posting.

    They got rid of these. I bought 2 as well. From Costco... But now the cheapest ones they carry are $55 vs $20-30 when we got them..
    But with me the motion sensor sucked, it was inconsistent and no real way to turn it off.

      Walmart had their Hypertough 4500 lumen motion sensing shop lights for $9 a pop. I said why not and bought a couple. Turns out they’re fantastic. Bought 8 more. Taking these back. The motion sensing on these never quite worked. The lights also would never turn off despite making sure I had set things up correctly on the remote.

    Just bought this at Costco. Before I install it, a question. Can you just turn off the motion sensor, and not have WiFi problems?

    • @striker1211
      @striker1211  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, it still emits the signal. I opened it up and cut the antenna off.

      @@striker1211 ok thanks. Turns out no way to mount flush to an indoor ceiling either, so I returned it.

    What if my router is upstairs and the lights are downstairs?

    • @striker1211
      @striker1211  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may affect only the downstairs devices connected to the router in that situation. You could always give it a shot and see if it affects you. Costco has a great return policy. I actually snapped the motion sensor antenna off mine and am still using it, just without the motion function. The dimming feature is really nice. Plus when you cut off the microwave antenna the power usage while off goes to 0w.

      @@striker1211 my light manual doesn't have anything about wifi but it says in the back about tv and radio interference could happen is that the same?
