Thank you Abigail for some new ways to think about and practice straight bows. I've come back to the cello after many, many years and my bow hand has been my biggest challenge. I am enjoying the process.
Magnífica esplanação. Muito bom, tem me ajudado muito Abigail com suas dicas de estudo do cello. Obrigado e continue nos proporcionando suas dicas valiosas.
Thanks for these very helpful videos. I'm a little confused in regard of straight bow. According to Leonard Rose a straight bow doesn't exist. Could you comment on this concept?
Maybe straight bows aren't important if you are Leonard Rose and/or you play a fabulous instrument, but for the rest of us, straight bows make a big difference in terms of producing a clear, clean, consistent tone.

David Littrell, KSU string professor, used to call it "gutter ball bowing."
Why can't I get a sound out of my celli? I just started to learn, but i can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

Thanks, I'm glad I won't have to modify my bowing technique ;-)
