She is fluent in Dutch, Africaans, and English, but sings in many more languages. All the modern European ones - Italian, French,Spanish, German, and also a few less obvious ones like Latin, Swedish, and recently Mandarin. She works to learn the Correct pronunciation and translation, so she can put the emphasis and emotion in the right places. Then she delivers the result with near perfection, often switching languages, as she does here.
Great job! Amira is Dutch. She has sung in 11 languages (plus several dialects): English, Dutch, Afrikaans, Swedish, Spanish, Hebrew, German, French, Chinese, Italian and Latin. Amira is a dramatic coloratura soprano, but she can also sing in any female register. She sings serious operas, such as Mozart's The Magic Flute. But she also sings in the crossover genre. She doesn't sing pop. She is a strong candidate for the best singer of all time, surpassing even Maria Callas. She has over 1 billion views on TH-cam and her recordings have so far won two diamond, two platinum and two gold records.
Amira's beautiful soothing voice and her spirit go right into the centre court of our hearts. Thank you Lord for the incredible blessing she is to so many of us. Thank you for your super reaction. God bless.
Merry Christmas TKE. Since nobody mentioned it in the og comments section, I'll mention it here. At 2:40 Amira is singing the 2nd verse in Dutch (my native language). Traditionally, there have always been two versions, one protestant and one Catholic. The Catholic lyrics are the most faithful tt original version in German (lyrics by Joseph Mohr, a Catholic priest from Austria). But here's the interesting part. The Dutch language has a third version of "Stille Nacht", which is in Flemish (from Flanders, the Dutch speaking part of Belgium). The second verse from that version is the one she used here. After that, she sang the third verse of the English translation.
Merry Christmas!!! I have to say I think I like the Dutch version better than the English, it just seems to flow better! But either way very beautiful stuff! This is going to be a part of my personal holiday playlist!
Hey man, can you do a reaction for these two Unlucky Morpheus songs: 1. Carry on Singing to the Sky. and 2. Their LIVE cover versions of Eruption (Van Halen) and The Dance of Eternity (Dream Theater)? They perform those two cover songs in the same live video. It is amazing.
