brilliant railway journey im loving Syston Loughborough & Leicester keep up the awesome work
Thanks Michael
I found it great for an OK day Simon. Thanks.
Thank you
East Midlands Parkway sort of reminds me of what Ravensthorpe station between Huddersfield & Dewsbury used to look like when it also had power station cooling towers adjacent to the platforms, but that is going back to the 1980s. Thank you for sharing Simon. 🙂👍
Thanks Richard
Really nice Vlog Simon. Great visit to the East Midlands network! I filmed at Leicester back in July lol. I passed your train on way to Crewe the same day in the morning I was on the 0809 of Rugeley TV lol. I enjoyed watching as always.
Thanks Sam
Great video, Cyber! Even a day that was just OK turned out to be interesting to watch. It always seems unusual to see a bigger station like Leicester with no sign of electrification at all!
There are plans for the Midland Mainline for electrification but only got as far as Kettering for Corby at the moment, Thanks barrowc
Looks like you had fun Simon. Thank you for sharing. Leicester was good when HST'S where around but not so much anymore.
The Midland Mainline was good for HSTs at the time. Have been on a few myself in the past. Thanks Jacob
An Aye Okay Day you had SimOnTrains. I can remember years ago; When East Midlands Trains was under the franchise of Stagecoach, they had a contract with Stagecoach Megabus Plus Bus service. The Megabus would pick up at various locations in North/West and South Yorkshire and the coaches would all meet at East Midlands Parkway to connect for a HST service to London ST Pancras. I'm not sure if that service runs anymore for Megabus but it was a cheap option.
A stella railway journey :-)
Thanks Ricky
Great video Sherlock
Thanks Arnold
Really enjoyed this video 👍
Thanks Jeremy
If you want a short platform, go to Doleham in East Sussex. Doleham, a Southern managed station, can only accommodate the front ONE coach
Beauly in Scotland even shorter
Cool stuff Simon
Thanks GBUK Roads & Cycling
wonderful 156
Thanks 156 Andrew
East Midlands Railway are having more Class 170 Turbostars cascaded from Southern.
Yes as the process has started but they soon will be slowly getting the West Midlands Class 170s as the first Class 196 is starting to enter traffic this coming Monday
@@Sim0nTrains Sounds good. 👍
Lol I thought I recognised that person at the start of the video. Anyways good vlog from my neck of the woods (whilst I was away from it that day lol), Syston is a good location that I always go to when I can. Nice to see 170 531 formally 631 there as well lol.
Thanks Reuben
5:01 It was a good location! Who let the bush overgrow???????
No idea... the bush must die!
Well that is going to be Syston off of the list with the shrubery growing like it is, no way that we are going to be doing any of that crap
Still got to do Loughborough and Leicester this year for this area, as well as Spondon and Long Eaton and Attenborough..........
That busy isn't too bad, just have to photo them going away lol
Excellent video again Simon! 👏 🙂
Just out of curiosity, are these stations you have been to before, or, first time visits?
Thanks Ian R, All the stations featured in the video I have visited before and they're not first-time station sadly.
How did you find the meridians? (222) I took them to and from london and man they were noisy! I was staying with family in Oakham, as my nana is from there!
I love the Class 222s, they are what they did that they should had done on the Voyagers/Super Voyagers
What are EMRs 170s like? Are the units that are joining EMR being treated to a refresh or full refurb? Someone told me they're looking a little bit tired
The inside of a Class 170 are just in the old London Midland colours but they could do with a interior refresh
Why do you not advise filming at the two stations mentioned?
That is an excellent question, They only 2 platforms with the fast lines fenced off Seilby can only filmed at one end Barrow-upon-Soar is in a cutting on a curve but again only platforms on the slow lines.
@@Sim0nTrains oh okay
See that can't have been me, we don't do videos together anymore. That was an imposter using my likeness
Then who was it then? lol
Hope the Train Manager made a speeding recovery and it's been a goose video to watch as always! Sadly not many sprinters but Is it me or was there a 180 with 4 Carriages not 5!? Goose Lord Man! Looking forward to your next AD-venture!
