MR. ROB HALFORD IS THE GREATEST HEAVY METAL SINGER OF ALL TIME. WHY THAT? ITS NOT BECAUSE HE HAS THE GREATEST METALLIC VOICE BUT ALSO BECAUSE HE IS THE SINGER THAT HAS SUFFERED THE MOST. GRANDE HALFORD!
Halford still doing it in grand style... Truly an amazing singer - sometimes we forget that he has been doing it for 50 years + - Rob Halford is an amazing singer and a true founder of real heavy metal - keep it going Rob !!!
and 4 nights later during this very same song Richie's aorta would rupture on him while on stage. It's a miracle he made it through the 10 hour heart surgery. Rest up and heal Richie, we are praying for your return to the band asap
I was at St Louis the night before his aorta ruptured. And actually watching him during his performances he did look like he slowed down a little bit towards the later half of the setlist anyways I mean I get it an hour and a half of playing like that get you tired but I've seen him four times previous than that and I could tell something was a little off about him cuz he was high intensity throughout the entire show the other four
People wonder why KK hasn't been invited back. Well when you write a book and in the book you pen your hate for Tipton and Halford it should not shock anyone that they wouldn't want him back. It would be awesome if they could get together and settle their differences. Especially for the fans.
It would be awesome if they could resolve whatever their differences may be. I doubt that they'll ever play together considering Glen has Parkinson's which will severely hurt his playing ability.
I would have seen them on Oct 13 but then we got the news about the Falcon's near-death experience. Wishing him a speedy and full HEAVY METAL recovery.
Damn I gotta comment twice on this one. Painkiller. The original version is one hell of a hard song to sing. Rob in his 40s . now at 70? I kinda like this version better! The vocal opera falls are as good as it gets! The metal god!
Rod Halford always take the same spot when he start to sing Pain Killer song..... 😀their daughters LOVEBITES played this cover song in their latest AUDIO .....
@@scottashe984 I have my doubt if you are tone deaf or not, because your critiscism doesn't make sense. He achieve the notes, he just don't use much vibrato as the studio version.
I don't fuckin' understand why in the actual lineup there's only Ritchie Faulkner playing guitar solos... Love Judas Priest, and RF is a great guitar player, but the other guy is so obscured... I miss the old scene!
'The other guy' is Andy Sneap who is also a legendary engineer and producer of metal history..lol. He also has been playing as a tour guitarist for over 4yrs in tour.
Was there a reason why he was standing in that position was it because of the amps or something that caused the effect of his voice or what I can't understand why he was just standing there like that
It is actually is a pretty legitimate singing technique. The idea is you can achieve cleaner and more powerful high notes by compressing your diaphragm like that.
Well he is 70 now and it is a very vocal demanding song which he pulls it off very pristine after all these years. He did the same during their Angel of Retribution tour in 2005.
Its to position his lungs properly. Opera singers often tilt their chest up or down aswell.. When belting out, shifting the lungs can really help you hit the note without blowing out your voice. He has done this for abnout 10-15 years now and even spent 3-4 years doing the painkiller screams while kneeling on the ground because he felt it gave his lungs the best position. It is a proper vocal technique though, nothing to do with the age or fortitude. His health is fine and he's been doing this specific technique for years. Great question, but nothing to be concerned about :)
Most bands, presumably Priest included, tune their guitars down as their careers go on to make it easier on the vocalist. But then Rob comes out here and sings Painkiller lmao. It's so funny. It's like you have a dude on crutches running a sprint race, using the crutches like ski poles lol.
I only like this song and "One Shot At Glory" from this band, But I prefer Maiden much more, especially "Piece of Mind" & "A Matter of Life and Death" periods
This 70-year-old grandpa is cooler than me.
He is cooler and heavier than a lot of "heavy metal singer". Incredible voice and energy!!!
TEMOS certeza disso!!!!
and me
That 70-yearold grandpa just fucking growled. I didn't think he could growl!
Can't Believe The Chap Is 70...Bloody Hell...
Judas and iron maiden keeping old school heavy metal alive after all these years
Senjutsu sucked though.
And Saxon!
@@rodycaz8984 really I've heard only good things about it I haven't heard it myself yet
@@ukaszczapiewski319 I don't think I know Saxon r they good

Hes lip synching these days see how he turns sideways and covers his mouth with his hands also a lot of vocal effects.
He is not lip singing , you don’t know what your talking about
70 and still sings better than most!
sings in that position only...
@@subgenreswithstarsmusic7872agora tem que ter alguma posição pra canta olha a idade dele
fuck....he is still amazing, wow
Obviously lip synching
Amazing he's lasted this long vocally considering he was a heavy smoker till 2000! He's truly a metal god!
My punk ethics of "live fast die young" was ended when I saw Rob nailing it in this video.
I'm a big fan but this actually made me laugh. Rob looks like he's gonna take a standing dump and then starts singing and sounds like Alvin !! 🤣😂
I can Not believe that He still can sing like this! Amazing
Santa Clause clad in leather...I LOVE IT.
62 years old and I still get chills when this riff kicks in ffs GOAT !!
Get well soon Richie 🤘
The death growl is a cool addition to the song 🤘🏼
Rob your voice will never change .... I literally Love IT! :)
Amazing voice Rob Halford 🤩🔥👍💪
Still Can Hit Those High Notes At 70 Flawlessly...Bloody Amazing & Wicked...
Probably one of the most underrated of all the greats. May Rob live forever.

The metal god , there is nothing more to say, that man is a legend 🤘🏻
I was there!!!!! Fantastic show!!!!!!!
Me too, yes lots of fun🤗
Amazing!!! 50 years.
I think this is one of the greatest songs ever, my music range is from classic to whatever. One has just to like something ey😋
Yeah, it’s aged well. If they re recorded it with modern production it would be an objectively heavy song even today haha
Rob Halford is undisputedly the GOAT!!
Seen Judas priest more times than I can count. Grew up in Milwaukee and saw them at Summer fest a few times and omg love love love ❤️
Proof again old school still kicking ass!!!
Glad I was able to go, awesome show!
Роб молодец! Здоровья, Санкт Петербург в восторге!🤘

Sounds like king diamond on Melissa but still kicking ass. Impressive.
Yeah but he's 70 so that's fair lol
King Diamond is still nailing his shit though and I'm not tone deaf like most of the commentators. I love Rob but this was pretty rough.

They sound great. I have a question...why is Rob bent over thru most of the video looking at the stage? Legitimate question. It's a little odd to me
Gotta do what you gotta do to belt out those high notes when your 70 yrs old...
He really only did that for this song...I am sure it helps him hit some of those high notes.
Well he is 70 now and it is a very vocal demanding song which he pulls it off very pristine after all these years. He did the same during their Angel of Retribution tour in 2005.

he's not a grandpa...grandMA..he's married to his Husband!! two grandma's actually.
Why is Scott Travis talking no offense that shit has to be handled by the Metal God himself
Gives Rob a chance to rest his voice at least a little bit.
Santa ?
KKs priest should be doing this... song....uuuhm...Well..ok ..wait,,who would do the solos? Ok, Maybe that's why they don't.
