It is possible to become a self-taught quant. In fact, most of the quants are self taught and do not possess formal qualification in Quantitative finance. Most quants are from Physics, Maths, CS & Engineering background who are selft taught in quant finance techniques. The best way is to learn by doing (trail and error). Do some projects on quant finance. Some good projects for beginners could be forecasting stock returns using time series models and building a model to predict default on a loan.

They have good course curriculum and the instructors are also good but I am not sure about the industry recognition.

Hi Sir, I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in Finance, and I have recently become fascinated with Quantitative Finance. However, I am concerned that my background in Finance may not provide me with the necessary mathematical skills required for this field. Although I am willing to learn, the absence of an engineering or math degree has left me uncertain about alternative pathways into Quantitative Finance. If you have any knowledge or suggestions regarding this matter, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you for your time.
