- Episode 5 of Margs x 18k Productions’ Pen Game Rap Battle sees the the curtain rise on the second round of the group stages as DBC faces off against Amity, and Dan Dannah faced Ren DMC in the return of group A.
The winners of each battle collect 3 points each and will face off against the other rappers in the group in later episodes to see who makes it to the quarter final stages.

1st battle was meh, glad Joey said it. It was lacking conviction and penwork altogether. Dan and Ren was the exact opposite; Dan had bare conviction and Ren had the maddest penwork. For that reason, I think Ren should have won. He can add vim to his bars, but adding mad wordplay might not be as simple if you don't have the talent for it. I hope Ashley Tragic gets his reparations in the next ep though still.
Yeah, judges got this one wrong imo. Ren was very direct with his bars - everything was direct and disrespectful

That Ren and Dan battle was the best one this season, both came through solid. That match up should have been final worthy. Ren just about takes it for me with the effortless flow and how he chose the beats well to go with the lyrics/ certain punchlines
Absolutely bro, they both killed it. Anybody who isn’t coming on that level isn’t worthy of being on the show in my opinion. Best battle so far Ren took it for me his beat selection was crazy. Bars and delivery was spot on💯
Dan got energy and got bars but this isn’t an audition to be in a track. It’s a rap battle. Ren was disrespectful and got to Dan cos he didn’t like the mum talk but ren continued and kept getting disrespectful and this is what rap battles are all about. The judges going on like his comedy bars weren’t bars and he was just saying some comedy shit. It’s was direct bars that were insulting af… REN WON

Amity can actually battle rap, I had to look up his ting. Quite a few of these guys here are battle rappers by trade but the whole concept of this pengame rap battle is flawed in the sense that guys can’t spit without a beat.

It’s a rap battle….not a talent show, Dan only really sends for him here and there most of what he’s talking about defeats the purpose of a rap battle, Ren Dmc literally sends for him directly every single bar

As you've no doubt noticed the show is drill themed and every contestant has the opportunity to approach the battle in which way they seem fit. In this particular battle Ren came with witty bars disrespecting mums and that, my angle was more that I didn't rate his lyrical ability and im a better spitter than him. You're fair to say you felt as if he should have won that because that's your opinion but on the day, the judges voted in my favour. Had it'd have been a different set of judges it could have gone the other way but read the room, if you was there you'd have seen that I out performed him in that particular bout and although the mic seemed to pic up what he was saying, on the day you couldn't take him in with the same level of clarity.
