159 countries is practically the whole world without European, the USA and some Asian countries who will use the alternative system outside SWIFT. The usd Will loose its global dominance as reserve currency. Trade between these 159 countries will not be done in the usd anymore but in yuan or the currency of the trading countries. The amount of usd that will find its way back to the USA will create a high inflation as the usd looses its value.

This has everything to do with dedollarization. SWIFT only allows trade in US dollars and other approved western currencies. The new system as it is now doesn't even allow trade in dollars. That may change.

The next step should be that the countries that do not want to use the BRICS (extended system) should be required to pay for the natural resources they are dependent on in the BRICS and other developing countries, must pay with tangible exchange (Including Gold, Equipment, Technology etc. (that the countries form which the resources are extracted ) that need the technology etc..

we need more options ... the more the global payment systems, the more frictionless the global trade, 'cause the less the transaction costs....and the more level the playing field. of course, this BRICs-pondered global payment system will not replace the u.s. dollar or the swift payment system, it will be just one more option for global trade and interbank money transfer. the more the merrier. being dependent solely on or putting all eggs in one U.S. dollar or SWIFT basket is never a good idea from the national security point of view of the countries in the global south.. glad that the global south is finally waking up to this bitter truth..
