Straight and to the point. Great disclaimer you slipped in there. "Don't drink or lick the water" Its a shame we still have to tell people this in 2024. Great vid. THIS is how a DIY should be done. No senseless banter. And, the instructor talks to his viewers clear and goes step by step explaining everything every part and optional parts if needed. Someone on here called this video the gold standard for DIY vids. I agree.
I wish every DIY video was made this way! Thank you for the clear explanations and straight-to-the-point tutorial. Plenty of people would’ve made this a 20 min video. Thanks again!!
I love how you displayed every single step not assuming everyone knows how to do some things. I’m a new subscriber and your channel is awesome! Thanks for taking the time to do this
Thank you for this tutorial, I was able to change it myself!! I definitely struggled but after 5+ hours I was able to change it and i love my new faucet!! Don't be afraid to try on your own
Your video helped me IMMENSELY with replacing all my bathroom faucets. This is a project I had never done in my life but your video made it doable. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! Seriously, I wish I could give you a million dollars! I don't know if it's because I just got off an 11+ hour shift or if I'm just dumb today but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the waste pipe to attach back to the bottom of the new drain stopper. I'm like, "It's basically adult LEGO for cryin' out loud! How hard can this be?!!" After many words that would make even sailors and Cthulu blush I watched your video and finally figured out how to place the rings and expanders. You were the only one to show that level of detail and without it I would not have been able to do it.
2 things to be clear about on doing this type of install/upgrade. 1. Unless it specifically states it on the label that it works with rubber or plastic, do not use Plumber's Putty on anything other than metal drain flanges (Even though you mentioned it at the beginning, I noticed that you skipped this step in the video). 2. Before turning on the hot and cold water for the first time, remove the aerator so that any debris will not clog the aerator.
I've replaced several faucets and had never thought of this! Good point. :) Sometimes washing machine hoses can become clogged, and the water will only drip into the machine, based on this same premise. :(
Thank you! The last time I called the plumber in, he said the tap was stuck and that if he tried too hard it would break.... when I had called him to REPLACE the whole faucet! I won't be wasting money on calling him to replace it Much thanks God bless
Liked, subbed and dropping a comment because this video is awesome. As many others have commented, this is complete, clear and to the point. Extra points for addressing the different size tail piece and connecting it to a slightly larger p-trap. Thank you, sir.
@@TheGhjbkl We have PVC pipes that bring the water to the sink, our old faucet had brass pipe supply lines connected to the valve I had to use a pipe cutter to cut the brass pipe and remove the old faucet. I also had to cut the pvc and replace the old valve with a shark bite valve then attach the new supply lines to that.
Fantastic video! Still doesn't cover everything I need (of course), but seeing the things I have done 20+ years ago in a video eases my stress level a little.
You guys are brave for not using any silicon on the reinstall of the drain. As said by others, plumber's tape is not really needed for faucets made after like 2010.. but if you're not going to seal the drain with silicon, you'd better do something.
Thank you so much! I was able to change My new faucet thanks to your detailed instructions. I got the same as you jaja to be on the safe side since I'm clueless about this things and it looks 🔥
Thanks for explaining the drain! I have this same faucet and I’m tired of waiting for someone to do it for me. I think I can handle it. I need to watch a couple more times though. 🤣
Just stumbled on your channel and I love it. Thank you for speaking so clearly and deliberately. Your how-to's are super helpful! You've gained another subscriber.
I'd recommend replacing the water lines. They are under pressure and you don't want an old water line to rupture later. Water lines use compression fittings, so plumbers tape isn't necessary. Attaching the drain pipe to the flange and sealing the flange to the sink wasn't shown. You'll need either silicone or plumbers putty, I prefer silicone for several reasons. Also ensuring a good seal at the under sink gasket is critical. The plumbers tape here is essential.
Thank you so much for this 😭 my landlords did the absolute BARE MINIMUM with our bathroom and it’s falling apart. My sink was not properly sealed and not the right size? I genuinely thought faucets and drains were created equal but I guess not 😅🤣 anyway seriously, tHANK YOU FOR THIS ❤️❤️✌🏽
This video is absolutely fantastic, well done, and very well explained. It helped me a lot! HUGE Thanks! One quick piece of advice to others doing this for the first time: You can put the sealing/Teflon tape on the threads on the hose connections of the faucet BEFORE securing it to the sink :)
Great step by step video. It’s very informative and well delivered. I do have 1 question. Did you not have to use plumber putty with the drain plug because of the rubber washer/gasket that was already present??
Thank you for your video. I was able to change out my faucet, it took me a lot longer than you but it got done. One less thing the wife bothers me about. Cheers 😂
Best DIY videon ever! Like I really wish that someone had a service where you come teach me in person how to do this. So if I have questions during installment I can ask. It would be a good master class.
You might also need a reciprocating saw to remove the old flange and a Dremel or other handheld rotary tool to cut off the plastic nuts which were clearly overtightened and had pipe dope applied.
thanks for the step by step instructions and clear visuals -- about to embark on replacing faucet in my apartment and am already having anxiety on what i'll find in the j-trap and the tail pipe. existing faucet drips constantly and causes rust around the drain metal rink in base of sink. probably going to have to use plumbers putty around drain i'm guessing.
I would like to thank you very much. what took you 7 minutes 19 seconds took me about an hour and a half. haha plyers didn't work for me had to find the right size wrenches, wd40 and kept rewinding you. it works and no leaks !! Thanks 🙏 to you! And more than likely saved me 1 to $200
I see that you are unscrewing clockwise the knot under the black casket. I am trying to do the lefty loosey but it looks like it’s not working. Should I do it righty tighty (like you)?
Great video. You explained steps very well. However be prepared to replace this faucet in 2-3 years. This exact faucet was installed in newly purchased “flipped” home and all the black finish crumbled off. So unless you don’t mind a gray plastic faucet in 2-3 years, invest in something with better quality.
This should be the GOLD standard of how to make a DYI video. Thank you so very much for an EXCELLENT tutorial.

That’s not the same bathroom even tho I saw u just do the whole thing u must have forgot to take a before picture 😂
I've used this video on multiple occasions, and watch several times on each occasion. It's so helpful and detailed, I really appreciate it
Thank you for this tutorial, I was able to change it myself!! I definitely struggled but after 5+ hours I was able to change it and i love my new faucet!! Don't be afraid to try on your own
Just starting lmao, I can see how this will take me 5hrs +
I want to do this but 5 hours would have me hella frustrated.
@@SakinahPalmer the hardest part was just removing the old faucet honestly.
@@SakinahPalmer But imagine the joy of not dealing with the old faucet. You can do this!
Oh gosh, I think you just gave me the confidence to think that I can do this on my own 😬
You can totally do it. Even if it takes you two hours and you watch this video 200 times it doesn’t matter.
How’d it go ?
Samee🙌
She died.
@@tokenup420 WHAT!!
Nearly perfect instructions. As mentioned earlier, maybe a note about when to use the plumbers putty would be helpful. Thanks for making this!
Thanks! Made this process painless for me
I am a plumber from Egypt and this wonderful man represents me perfectly at work💪
That's amazing that you are watching from so far away. Glad it helped you out.
Your video helped me IMMENSELY with replacing all my bathroom faucets. This is a project I had never done in my life but your video made it doable. Thank you so much!!
I had purchased this exact faucet and stumbled across this video. Thank you so much - this is perfect and exactly what I needed!
Me too!! Maybe tag this video with the brand name Phiestina

Had to completely take apart a faucet the ONE time I decided not to take off the aerator. Lol
How about plumber's tape?
Thank you for being so clear and concise. This is like the sixth video I watched and the other ones were pretty confusing.
It took more time to get the pieces than actually changing the faucet. Thanks for the superb explanation!
Thank you for showing how to remove the old faucet and drain stopper. Other videos I looked at were skipping this crucial step.
I went through so many of these videos. All just awful. Thank you for sharing clear and simple instructions. 👍💕👍
Thank you! This is the only video that explained how to remove the metal ring in the drain
Thanks!

Why did you loosen the nut before removing the plastic drain pipe? Wouldn't leaving the nut sealed make it easier to take it out?
