i have the same bike like you i would like to ask the symptoms of your old r1 engine how do you know that it has broken bearings because mine doesn't turn over when hot my mechanic replaced everything already from battery to starter motor etc. still the same issue..i have to wait atleast 30 minutes to an hour to start it again and it works totally fine it drives fine but when it gets hot again it does the same slow crank without the engine turning over its a pain in the ass please help me my mechanic told me that something probably welded inside the engine when its hot thats why the starter motor is having a hard time cranking it. help help

Did you pick up the 2011 motor off a website? I was thinking about doing a online salvage auction but I'm super skeptical with anything online and used. My past luck can back it up, especially on a tight budget and very limited time to myself to start another project. I'm definitely reading up on as much as I can beforehand and I'm literally taking notes from your videos as well.
I actually found it on a Facebook group. I'm waiting on smog blockoffs and my oil to get here and itll be going back in the bike. Lord willing there wont be any issues with it as this motor has been sitting for over a year.
@@PeaJayYt just have a open mind and tri it I was looking for a oil catch can myself mite have to spend good money for the food one but it will be worth it , by having a seal PVC system your not allowing the crank case to breath and causing the crank case to build pressure and that kind of pressure is not good for rings or anything else at that matter

Would the ignition cover bolt in the center be to view the timing?

Yea wikipedia Yamaha r1 open up the specifications drop box and there it shows all the R1's. It's only about 7hp.

you need a oil catch can dont seal off the pvc to the valve cover
