What weight thread are you using? What type of stabilizer? Do we ever need a topper? What fabrics would you recommend?

I have done long stitches on my Janome 550 by turning off the cutter feature. You do have to watch it carefully to stop the machine because it will not cut when it moves to another area.

I bought the twinkle star designs and the satin stitch is giving me fits - it bird nests underneath - do you think there is a problem - I'm using poly mesh cut away, 75 needle etc - the last block I did the square in the middle while doing the satin stitch jumped outta the hoop so had to finish that stitching on a sewing machine - Sue, can you double check the stitch out please and let me know how yours is coming out - thank you in advance

Sharon, i stitched out 5 of the twinkle star designs and I did not have any issues at all, Bird nests are caused by tension issues - either top or bottom tension or both. Clean out the bobbin area, try a new bobbin and change your top thread to a new spool or something different. I am using the same stabilizer and needle and exquisite thread

@@OMLembroidery I did change the bobbin and rethreaded several times - but will also try a topstitch needle and see what that does - thanks for your response

@@sharoncrean2458 The might be thread chips caught in your bobbin tension disk. I use unwaxed dental floss to clean out the thread tract.
