      I had a gig last night, the autofocus was hard to use cuz the venue was dark and lights where hitting everywhere ended up shooting manual for some of the shoots to have more control, if it's during the day this should be a killer combo

    Great content. I currently have an RP and now I’m ready to get either the R7 or R8. I have the RF 50mm f 1.8, RF 35mm f 1.8, and the RF 24-105 f 4-7.1 IS STM. I’ll be using the RP for stills and either the R7 or R8 for video. Do you think the R7 would be the better option? 🤙🏼

      Thank you for watching! R7 & R8 are both great cameras for video just depends what you need it for. I picked up the R7 before the R8 was released, but still I would pick the R7.
      I believe the R7 is the better camera the only advantage the R8 has is the full frame censor that it shares with the R6MKII. With the R7 you have ibis, dual memory slots and better battery life.
      If you plan to have the R8 on a tripod or gimbal 80% or more I would lean on the R8.
      Either way you can't go wrong with both, If it's studio work R8 is the way and if you are a run n gun type shooter R7.
      I know I didn't give you a straight answer, but hopefully that gives you a little bit more insight on what works best for you.

    Thanks! Nice video. Which lens is sharper? 35mm f1.8 or 50mm f1.8? Thanks

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra ปีที่แล้ว +3

      35mm is sharper, but by a small amount once it's passed F2.2 they feel identical in sharpness. If you are shooting wide open the 35mm feels better. That's just my opinion tho

  • @Psyclonus7

    The 16mm has distortion on edges of the frame from what I understand. Is this true?

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually anything wider than 24mm in full frame you get distortion, Since we're on apsc it's about a 25.6mm full frame equivalent it's not too bad but some instances you will see it.

    Is the 50mm also good for group shots? Or should I consider a 35mm on an R50?

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's more about physical limitation if you can move back the 50 is fine. Normally the 50 on crop sensor is tight.
      For group shoots you are normally shooting in smaller apertures. That your kit lens can probably get the job done.
      If you haven't gotten either lens yet I would set the kit lens to multiple focal lengths and find out which is more comfortable for you or like more.
      I shoot group shoots anywhere between 24-50mm really depends on the situation.

    Is the R50 with a 50mm RF lens stronger or the iPhone 13 Pro Max in terms of shooting videos? Please reply because I am very confused

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They are very different tools. If you are just starting with content/videos an iPhone and a good mic can take you a long way.
      The difference between the iPhone and any camera is the censor size. Censor is what captures the light, images, and etc.
      If you need a bigger breakdown TH-cam search "iPhone 14 vs Canon R10" in that video they do a great comparison between phone and camera.
      The R50 with a 50mm the view might be too tight for you unless you have the camera far away from you. I wouldn't recommend this as a daily video lens.
      Maybe the R50 with the 16mm 2.8 could be better for you
      I know tiktokers who only create videos on their phones. It's more about what you want to show to the world than the equipment.

    Hi, i am having Canon eos r50 and i am thinking to get rf 50mm 1.8 lens, but the question is rf 50mm lens does not have image stabilization, and the eos r50 also does not have image stabilization.
    So when i will use both, the image will be more shaky or not ??

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The R50 has digital stability, make sure it's in for both photo and video. For photo usually shooting higher shutter speed helps avoid shakes. Video use tools to help you like a tripod or hold it steady as possible

    • @ronn1NNNNN
      @ronn1NNNNN ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavidKabra so you mean to say, in photo mode, if I will be using low shutter speed the image will be shaky ? Am just curious to know before buying .

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ronn1NNNNN normally if you shoot 125 or faster you're fine. Slower than that just be mindful.

    • @DavidKabra
      @DavidKabra ปีที่แล้ว

      You just have to hold the camera still, the image will only be shaky if you jitter. Anything slower than 1/60 might result in blurry images. You can Google/TH-cam how shutter speed works if you need a deeper dive.

    Hello Sir:
    Please help and give me some advice,
    The camera I am currently using is Canon EOS R10,
    The kit lens used with it is (RF-S18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM)
    My main subject matter is toy photography.
    The secondary shooting content is street photography or portrait photos.
    Now I want to buy new lenses, after watching your video,
    Want to be
    Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM
    and
    RF85mm F2 Macro IS STM
    Or
    RF 35mm 1.8 STM
    After making a choice, I would like to ask you to give me some advice on which lens is more suitable for me? Thank you.🙏🙏🙏

      @DavidKabra 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would spend the next few days playing with your zoom lens with those focal lengths. 35, 50, and 85. See what you visually like the most.
      There's no wrong answer, but what you feel more comfortable with and have physical space between you and your subjects

      RF & RFs lenses can both be used on crop sensor cameras like your R10 natively no need for any adapter.
      RF-s is specifically built for the crop sensor line-up.
