Can't imagine Kyoto going into bankruptcy, its so sad and I was only there for half a day. Also quite amazing just how fast it can happen after having nonstop tourists for the past several decades at least
I hope it doesnt! But unfortunately as you might have seen at the start of the Kyoto livestream, I wouldnt be surprised if it did hopefully it will be ok!
In 2012 I went to Osaka castle with a family friend. We were walking through the south west garden when I was accosted by the most violent raven I've even encountered. I've never feared for my life as much as I did in that moment. It was no ordinary raven. This was a boss raven. It had a scar over it's right eye and I'm 90% sure it was smoking a cigarette.
Everytime I watch your videos made in this style, I just get these overwhelming emotions I haven’t felt anywhere else, it’s unexplainable, like a sadness that I can’t be there to experience it in person, but an immense joy that it exists, you just put everything together so elegantly.
Love the behind-the-scenes footage of you hangin' with Chris and Sharla. Having seen Chris's video of your visit, this video adds an extra dimension. Love it when TH-camrs do that.
This video was a visual feast, and I appreciate how much editing it must have taken to cobble together all the trips!! Nice to see all these places again, as well as some friends like the guitar guy in Fukuoka. Plus we got a mini review of hotel rooms around Japan! Nice work, Norm.
Fingers crossed that Japan opens up this year! My future itinerary only hits Sendai of these cities, but maybe one day, after I hit other countries I want to visit, I will explore the southwest more. Until then, there's your videos!
Do visit sendai! I did my exchange there at Tohoku university for a year. Awesome place to live if you love to live in a city but would also like to experience nature. That’s why it’s also called the city of trees
Ugh I MISS JAPAN!!! ♥️♥️♥️ Thank you for all the live streams and this beautiful video Norm! They’ve been such a huge escape while working or doing anything during the day☺️☺️
Tokyo Lens Explore was an answer to my prayers! I love having videos up while i work and play games on my second monitor but short videos mean more ads so i am always looking for long content. Your walks are fun, relaxing and at points informational! Thanks for all your hard work Norm, and heres to a great 2022
I just love watching these videos exploring different regions and cities of Japan. Thank you for all you do. I'm about to interview for the JET Program as a CIR in the coming weeks, and I can't be more excited to possibly be going to Japan. I've been so enamored with the country for its long history, traditional culture, and beautiful land since I was 13, so finally getting to go at 31 will be a dream come true. I can't wait to visit these places in person one day.
There are no other words except for captivating and mesmerizing. Every area, every feature….the time you take to share your journeys with us is deeply appreciated
Even worse is how much the banking cartel is depleting from Japan in the form of "financial aid" turned into never ending debt. Japan even more in the hole than america is per GDP. USA debt is highest, but so is our GDP.
I started watching the channel not too long ago so I've been having a really good time going through the older videos. Feels kind of weird to see all those big cities so empty though.
The music added a nice atmosphere. So many beautiful things. The traditional look of Kyoto. The more modern look of Osaka. That one tree in Fukuoka. The Astro Boy place.
I know I say it under most of your videos mate but your bgm choices are top notch, so much better than most TH-camrs out there. It gives depth to your videos
My grandpa doesn't remember much now, due to his age, but when I asked him about how he used to be a pilot, his face lit up and he said "Yes I've flown a plane. Just beautiful." We talked about the clouds. On my flight to go visit and take care of him for a while, was the first time I ever saw myself above the clouds, that I can remember. I know I flew with him when I was younger (about 6 years old) & told him it looked like the ending to Willy Wonka, but I remember that more like a small photo reel in my brain. To see the clouds and all the world from above in the day, was lovely. I want to fly one day, like you and him.
No favorites.... Because I love them all! It was nice to see a recap of your year-end month-long streams and videos. Sad to have missed most of your live streams but glad that you keep most of them up in the channel for those who missed them. I say it a lot, and I will say it again, thank you for bringing us around with you. Your streams and videos will keep me satiated until I can finally visit Japan in person. Stay safe and healthy.
With the exception of Sapporo, you pretty much replicated our last itinerary in 2019-2020! We loved Kokura so much and stayed right in Kokura Station. Your stream from there made me cry. This was fantastic and I enjoyed the snippet format, especially knowing I can go back and watch the longer streams. Thanks for starting 2022 off great! あけましておめでとうございます
The little food stands in Fukuoka looks so fun to just grab some food and meet people...also the city at night is just beautiful. That castle with the funky backdrop seems like something to behold😮
Catching up on your older videos. I don’t normally comment, but this video brought a tear to my eye … was able to relive my month in Kyushu at the outbreak of the pandemic. So many happy memories. Thank you from Australia
Rewatching this one - an oldie but a goodie. Still remember being locked up inside and watching the Kyoto castle live stream. Ahhh, so many occasions you kept us sane Norn 🥲
Always love your videos Norm! My family and I have a goal to visit all 47 prefectures in our lifetime and we were making good progress until COVID started. We used to visit Japan annually since 2013 but obviously haven’t been back in the last few years. We appreciate you showing viewers all parts of the beautiful country of Japan! I hope you have a meet up in the future the next time we visit.
For the bags of gravel in Sapporo, they're definitely there in winter (I've only been in Hokkaido during the winter only). I've also seen something similar in nearby Otaru, except they have crushed shellfish shells. It's a smart system to help people not slip as much on the roads during winter!
So many places! And so, so many beautiful shots! Just came here from the Nara video from one year ago, and it's true, the value of creativity, creating. It's so obvious here, with these endless snapshots showing the beauty and liveliness of the moment. Loving it. Having been covered by an icy blanket of wet grey clouds for 2.5 months straight, and unable to travel atm - watching this has been both a needed and defiant pleasure. ^^
Been Japan multi times as a Hong Konger, in a covid days when travelling is not as feasible as it used to be, you shown us the different vibe of Japan where we easily would miss. Yes it is the normal, beautiful details from the daily lives. Thank you, great video.
Found this video hidden inside my watch later playlist and can't believe it's almost a year passed by since I added it. Happy that I spotted it when I was moving videos to their dedicated playlists for things I want to watch. Doing travel and behind the scenes content in 1 video is something I think you combine really well and is always fun to spot what other videos/streams you were doing at that time. Also big fan of the Hokkaido snow
The castles and temples are so cool looking, I can't wait to check them out in person. Hopefully with my friend who really deserves a once in a lifetime vacation like this.
Can i just say i love your longer videos, i just never get bored, theres so much to see!!! All the time when i see other people post videos in japan, i feel like we're missing out on so much! I Really love when you take the time to go look at a certain spot you were mentioning. The more the better!
I thoroughly loved watching all the streams back and I'm glad I caught 2 of them live, my favourite was probably Kyoto, it's just so gorgeous, I'm quite sad to hear they're not doing financially well, hope the best for them and thank you Norm for all the great content.
When I saw the octopus on your thumbnail, my most favorite stop was already decided..Osaka! Thank you for reminding me how vibrant my hometown used to be and Osaka castle is definitely worth visiting as you introduced!😍✨
I was surprised that I had actually caught 2/3 of your live streams. The collage of steams was wonderfully done! I hope your having a good 2022. Be safe my friend 🤘😋
Nice wrap up of all the excellent walking tours. Lucky you can still get about and see the place. Fingers crossed we’re getting a bit more back to normal.
I was there in April 2021. It was extremely quiet even in Gion. I took photos in top spots without anyone nearby. I was happy to come back to Tokyo as I can remember because I miss the vibrant and lively city so much. At that time, Tokyo was quiet too.
Can't believe I missed this video. I'm planning on taking a month's leave from work when Japan opens up so I can do some serious traveling in Japan. Nice to see someone else had the same idea.
That was EPIC! Defintly what I needed today!!! What an adventure it has been! I am so glad to be part of it (even if its just from a viewing stand point)

Thanks for the heads-up on the livestream. Got my alarm set!
Anxiously waiting for the stream!
Keep safe Norm!🌠
That crazy plank bridge was weird to watch on stream. I just kept thinking about somebody breaking an ankle on it.
Osaka will always have my heart. I am so grateful that I have begun to love places and people that I have yet to meet through these videos.
Thank you!
It's an epic month really!! Thank you Mr. Norm, for showing us all this! 🙏❤❤
Best Christmas present everrrr! Can’t wait to fill my crane game with little toys😽
Awww you spelled my name!!
I never got to see it in action! I cant wait to see how it runs!!
glad you liked it!

This was such a cool little wrap up of all the livestreams. I miss Japan so much. Once this plague is over, I’m coming for a month. ❤️
twas oddly hectic to shoot, but very worth it!
Thank you so much for being there for all of it!
@@TokyoLens thank you for making it ❤️
Definitely a month!

7:53 One of the things I like the best about Norm is that he pronounces names and places properly and not "englishly" like Chris tends to do.

Kokura is gorgeous. You love the dichotomy/juxtaposition of modern/historical city/nature like I do. Such a wonderful thing.
I’m so happy to see a shot of the Kokura Japanese pickle shop sign made it into the video. 😍🏯🥒💖
It's sad to hear that Kyoto is struggling financially. So many places that relied on Tourism are going through similar, and it's just...so sad.
Even worse is how much the banking cartel is depleting from Japan in the form of "financial aid" turned into never ending debt. Japan even more in the hole than america is per GDP. USA debt is highest, but so is our GDP.

I love Osaka and the people there.
I love how amenable to walking the cities are, and the paving, all so perfectly level.
I miss Japan 😔 Ready to come spend money and support the place I love when they open up.

Japan is such a beautiful country I really want to at least visit Japan at some day in my life 🔥

What a lovely tour of Japan. Thank you
When you spoke about the "no diving" sign in Osaka, my mind was filled with a voice and the voice was shouting ”平成、ありがとう!”.
When i was doing my exchange in Sendai, my friend and I took a two week trip from Sendai all the way to Fukuoka. Sendai->Tokyo->Osaka->Nara-> Hiroshima->Fukuoka. The best thing was that we came up with the trip spontaneously and did little planning like only booking for a place to stay. The rest was just flexible. We walked the streets day and night, met some awesome people by accident and hung out with them. There were also some funny moment like when we went to an onsen reserved to only senior citizens but the clerk couldn’t be bothered with us and just let us bathe. Overall the whole trip was an awesome moment in my life. Can’t wait for the borders to open again so i can move to Japan.
