Concerning cork grease, I use Selmer Tuning Slide & Cork Grease (small white bottle) which I understand is no longer sold. It's a thick, red lubricant that some say is found in Bach Tuning Slide Grease (I did not confirm). Very little is needed, and I have the same bottle from 30+ years ago. It's great stuff and corks seem to love it. The white lipstick type cork grease caused my corks to fall apart, but not with this sticky red stuff. Also, there are two really cool phone apps that cover both tuning and metronome: Tunable and Tonal Energy Tuner. Your other recommendations are spot on.

Selmer雖然貴，但有些售後服務是頗到位的。十幾年前購入tribute to bird tenor，試用時已經覺得saxophone表面好像有一層霧面，當時想可能因為樂器店空調太強，而且只得一支沒有比較的機會，但是購買後霧面問題沒有改善，儘管我已經使用抽濕包，後來於一年後開始出現斑點發霉，我將相片發給Selmer法國總公司，他們一天之後便通知我這個問題不是我的責任，可以將saxophone交回代理並寄回法國重新上漆，六個月後收回時好像新的一樣，並有一封由廠方修理匠給我的信解釋問題和他如何解決。這支saxophone至今仍然操作良好，亦令我對Selmer有非常良好的印象。

我的Selmer 802也用了超過27年，我也該來做第三次的大整理了。第一次是2001年唸書時在法國原廠做的，第二次是2009年在台灣代理KHS做的，我也來寫信給他們看看原廠收不收這樣的Case。

我的建議是買最初階2字頭的，或是直接買最高階8字頭的。儘量不要買中間等級的樂器，以折舊幅度而言不划算。您參考。
