Gosh. I can't wait to see them live one day. I am such a big fan. I have two of their albums, but every album hits me so deeply. Such a good band. I love you alll
Sometimes you get the feeling that they're trying to just rush through certain songs. I kinda wonder if the break that Rob took helped them all decide to savor the songs on that tour.
It fills me with great joy that Rob was able to discover the wonderful noise that is Cardiacs. I think that I was wearing my "OBEY" shirt with Tim's head on it from a fund raiser from some years back to this show and we got to talk a little about the joys of Tim Smith. He had such an amazing time doing those shows in England. I'm still jealous that I was too broke to travel over there to see him play that convention.
After almost 10 years of being a Pinback fan and obsessively watching them live (And on TH-cam;)... I'm fairly certain they have the most videos (out of any act on this god-forsaken streaming service) with literally no downvotes
@@russellpaloor5125 My best friend and fellow musician found them qnd we used to play all their albums in a row at work. We worked in a kitchen. By the time i knew a single songs name i knew every song by heart. My favorite band of all time. They dont have a bad song.
Thank you so much for filming and posting this! Pinback is my long time favorite band. I have seen them every single tour since 2004 that they came to Atlanta or Birmingham and with a broken heart I could not make it out this time.
You'll probably catch them the next time they come to town. I really enjoyed this show, it was so nice to be able to see them playing again, and I'm glad that I was able to film for memories, and for everyone who wasn't able to make it to a show on this tour.
This sounds a lot better than the show I saw in 2012 at Terminal West. They didn't really sound good. I think Rob went on the wagon shortly after that show.
I love pinback seen them 3x in my life. I gotta admit though, this drummer doesn't pack any pep. No energy. I feel like there is a tense vibe, or maybe it's very mechanical and it's not coming across as loose. Seems constricted. Maybe it's just a job for him and he doesn't feel these songs. Then again absiv and Rob seem stiff as well.
This was the first tour after the band was on a multi-year hiatus, they had a different drummer than usual. The 2012 video that I have up is a better representation of a good Pinback show from this era. th-cam.com/video/2GvdH9OftIw/w-d-xo.html
MisterLettuce oh, i've actually watched that, didn't know it was also yours :D it's better but still doesn't compare to their earlier energy... I guess something took a toll on them
Always appreciate you recording Rob and crew. Good seeing you there. Thanks The drummer for this show was disappointing and underwhelming compared to Chris Prescott.
I think that Rob said that it was his third show with the band. I thought that he was pretty good, but I really love watching Chris play, especially during Penelope.
im a huge pinback fan and this was the first show i got to see them. Im also a musician and this drummer did a fantastic job. yes rob did mention it was only his third time playing with them and he never missed a beat, followed them perfectly and also played with a lot of energy. seeing videos of them playing without a drummer in the past made me very glad to have had jason with them.
Joshua Jones precisely. Rigid. And Rob even signals him to quiet his drumming at 31:20, to match the feel of the song. Sure he got the job done, but the drums in each Pinback song plays a unique role and are just as impactful as the vocals......imho
Shoutout to Zach’s left pinky. Hardest working finger I’ve ever seen. Love y’all!
Not in a Slint way, but I miss you.
Thought Experiment such a great line
I agree, slint rocks!
Gosh. I can't wait to see them live one day. I am such a big fan. I have two of their albums, but every album hits me so deeply. Such a good band. I love you alll
The Greatest Band to have ever formed ❤️
I really enjoy this concert.. Seems like they are playing it in real time instead of the damn near double-time.
Sometimes you get the feeling that they're trying to just rush through certain songs. I kinda wonder if the break that Rob took helped them all decide to savor the songs on that tour.
why cant every band ever sound like this
I love this band! Saw them play in Sydney 2011, top stuff. I met Rob, such a legend. Hyperdrive sequence begun, hit it Pinback!
Wish i could of been there. They sure do put an epic show on.
I recognize the shirt from his travels to Salisbury, England the month before in honour of Tim Smith from Cardiacs. Good repping 😁

I've been following them for a long time. I've seen them like 4 or 5x now.
What's up with Rob Crows weight fluctuation?
@@russellpaloor5125 Rob spent a while living and eating a lot healthier before this tour. He also had quit drinking.
From my hometown San Diego :) They rock.
Jason brings the gems again and again
This show is so epic filled with all their bangers
Fucking finally live footage of hatenaughts of melancholy Wall!
why is wall capitalized?
I love Zach's bass playing..... I usually don't like that style of playing, but in the concept of these songs? Aces...
Thank you for posting this. First time i got to see them live and they are my favorite band.
You got a great show for your first time! I hope that you get to see them many more times.
When did you first hear about them? What album/song got you hooked?

man! demar derozan is very talented
So bummed to have missed them. Always a treat. ♥
Thanks
Absolutely love Pinback, but they sound way, way better on record, like so many bands.
Rob looks so different!!
Mahalo from Hawaii
Thanxxx! ❤️
very nice
The Alphabet Business Convention shirt garners an instant LIKE.
R.I.P. Tim
Tim Smith was an absolute musical magician. A very special man.
rad "Autumn" - really nice
Fantastic show. Thanks for posting!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! Did they play Philly on this tour?
Yes they did. I missed them.

He probably WAS on the wagon during that. I seen them in 2006, 2008, 2013 and Rob was always super trashed and slurring through the lyrics.
The drummer is a dead ringer for Gary Dourdan from CSI Las Vegas
Wondering why Rob is singing Zach parts on a few songs? Was Zach sick?
Any Geardos out there that can tell me anything about Robs Gibson Les Paul?
What’s the first song they play on this? I’m a huge Pinback fan and do not recognize it and it’s beautiful.
The Hatenaughts of Melancholy Wall. It's one of the bonus tracks/b-sides from the Autumn of the Seraphs era.
Damn how many drummers does pinback have?
None, they just hire one when they go on tour.

He’s no Chris Prescott
@@zaneburnett8095 Came to say the same and realized who said it.... RIP My friend.
Earl T-Shirt Zane, who was a hardcore Pinback fan and a member of Pinbackfreaks died last year. He was struggling with depression and drug abuse.
I kinda feel sad cause I just watched pinback live in 2002... I gotta ask what happened?

MisterLettuce check out the 2002 performance it's spectacular... sender and offline pk right after it were special
I'll definitely have to check that show out!
MisterLettuce wait, I keep saying 2002 it's actually 2004 :D the one in casbah
Sounds like they messed up Non Photo Blue.
Yeah Zach messed up the bridge there : p

MisterLettuce I know, I shouldn't be too critical. The new drummer was good for being with them only three nights on the tour.

sam just sam he had tempo issues, he stayed on it, but definitely you can hear alot of slowing.
