What happens if the Steel Leaf is installed incorrectly on the front glass of the lens? and what happens if the front glass is installed incorrectly at the angle it was previously installed at? any problems? thank you
Thanks I have the 18 200 pz lens I just disassembled it same like this, it has some dirt inside, also there's a problem in the focus, when im at fixed focal length, it's good , when changing zoom level manual or power zoom, the focus is lost and keep searching for focus, i have to restart the camera. Tried the lens with a different camera, same.
Hello. I also have 18-200 for my nex-5 camera (Though its not Power Zoom, just regular manual zoom). It loses focus when i zoom in, but its normal, cause when you focus on a specific focal length with either autofocus or manual zoom it is set for that particular focal length you set. Pardon me if i get it worng, but that's how i see your comment.
@@sukranaya5039 I haven’t done that one, but many lenses have the same kind of mechanism to remove the front lens. Some may have a screw-in front, others have a glued fascia and then screws underneath.
Hi. In reply to your question, the front bezel of the SELP18200 looks very much like the one for the SEL18200. Although I haven’t tried it myself, I would be inclined to say that the method is the same. Other lenses I’ve disassembled have same or similar method: a plastic or a very thing cover that hides the screws. Others you have to turn (unscrew) the bezel out like you would do with a lens UV filter. I hope this is helpful.
Beatiful video. I have a Sony 18-105 f4 with a tiny little dust inside behind the front glass. It actually doesn't affect the picture as it is far from the sensor but it bothers me to know it is there. I may not take the risk to do it myself, but at least i know how it is done. If i found a repair shop, i know how much time they will need to work on it. I know it is a different lens but it's pretty much the same. Thank you
It’s hard to say without seeing it. If the dust is in that front lens and it doesn’t go using the method shown in the video, it may be that isn’t dust but fungus instead. But it could be that the dust is inside an inner Len’s which is a bit more complicated to dismantle.
Excellent Guide, really helpfull to clean or for removing fungus
