My dad recently passed away. This was one of his favorite songs. He’d always sing it and play the air drums whenever it came on. We had a falling out 11 years ago over something so dumb. Now I live with regret that we never fixed things. This was a gentle reminder that he’s with me no matter what. RIP dad. I love you.

I was really homesick for Syracuse and family and friends. I was serving in the US Army! Retired . Some of my fellow soldiers didn’t make it back… tears are falling fast!

This song really touches the soul and transports us back to the 80s. At that time, I was a 15-year-old boy full of dreams and longing for true love. I lived in the neighborhood of Bécalhau, very close to Bela Vista. The new neighbors moved here. That's when I met Marisa: she was the perfect girl for me, I thought so! It was hard to win her over, but it was worth it. We were always so close, we dated, got engaged and got married. Today, I have two children and we live very happily. I love Marisa and my children very much, and as the song says, those moments left a lasting impression on me.

Just FYI, the song actually came out in 1980 - it's a Hall and Oates song, this one is a cover. I much prefer the original personally but it wasn't released as a single probably because it didn't fit into the artistic shift with many of the singles they released in the 80s.
Shout out to Hall and Oates for the creation of this song. It failed to reach the charts for them, but wisely handed it Paul Young. The rest is chart history.

This song really touches the soul and transports us back to the 80s. At that time, I was a 15-year-old boy full of dreams and longing for true love. I lived in the neighborhood of Bécalhau, very close to Bela Vista. The new neighbors moved here. That's when I met Marisa: she was the perfect girl for me, I thought so! It was hard to win her over, but it was worth it. We were always so close, we dated, got engaged and got married. Today, I have two children and we live very happily. I love Marisa and my children very much, and as the song says, those moments left a lasting impression on me.

Just FYI, the song actually came out in 1980 - it's a Hall and Oates song, this one is a cover. I much prefer the original personally but it wasn't released as a single probably because it didn't fit into the artistic shift with many of the singles they released in the 80s.

The year this song came out, my mom passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. A few months later, my dad and sister left for 2 weeks to clear their heads, and I stayed back with my then 3 year old daughter. My husband had ended our marriage just 2 months before my mom passed. I would stay at my dad's while they traveled out west. I tended his huge garden with earphones in, listening to Paul Young, especially this song. Helped me deal with the loss of my mom, my bestest friend and a broken family. Thanks Paul. ❤
