Now just go back and listen to it from Older Noah's perspective .. That is what slays me..there are times where Allie is just out for a walk .and he longs for her to....to. Just come back to him... cries 😭😭😭
Such an amazing voice & a gifted performer. Saw him at the world premiere of Water for Elephants & was blown away by him. Definitely a standout performer. Wish he would've done a cast album for it as well.
This show is a musical theatre breath of fresh air. Full feeling orchestration, soaring melodies, and lyrics that tell the story beautifully. The rest can’t come fast enough 👏
I'll leave the light on, turn down the bed Heat up the kettle, butter some bread Stay up 'til midnight haunting these halls Let's hang our memories all over these walls Where have you gone? Just out for a walk? And when you get back, we'll have us a talk About life, about war, about dinner, and more 'Bout the sun and the moon And where have you gone? Another sunset, it happens to fall Right into a new day, crushing us all And night after new night, like the nights come and gone Living is waiting, living and wanting, living alone And where have you gone? Just out for a walk? And when you get back, we'll have us a talk About life, about war, about dinner, and more 'Bout the sun and the moon And we'll go up to bed, wash the world from our heads Are you coming back? Are you coming back soon? We build these walls (We build these walls) To live inside (To live inside) And make a home (And make a home) And shut our eyes and dream (And shut our eyes and dream) And when I see you, you're everywhere Planting a garden, biting your lip Watching the snowstorm keeping me warm I almost feel you-, you're kissing my neck Blinking and breathing, laughing and leaving And the hole in my chest isn't there anymore Where have you gone? Oh, where have you gone? I build these walls to bring you home But all they bring me is more alone Maybe I'll move on, maybe I won't But I'll leave the light on anyway I'll leave the light on
I did theatre w/ him in high school, he's always had this sound. I will say, he wasn't very nice to me cuz I was just lowly ensemble. I do not miss the high school theatre caste system, to be sure. I am sure a lot of former theatre kids can relate lol
@@BelleoceallaighThis is the second comment I've seen you post with you airing out your grievances about Ryan. Sorry you had a bad experience, but you're looking petty at this point.
Saw this in NY with the boyfriend and have the full soundtrack on repeat daily. The ending part at around 2:11 that gets accelerated has become my main ringtone and the ending of if this is love is solely for my boyfriend ❤
It sounds like it belongs in a New Composers showcase at 54 Below. The music is virtually indistinguishable from every other composer in their 20s and 30s.
Even the music sounds incredibly reminiscent of every other musical written by a composer in their ‘20s and ‘30s. Contemporary Broadway very much has a bland orchestral pop house style, with markedly similar chord and melodic progressions. This adds absolutely nothing new or remarkable to the musical theatre canon.
@@ShowtuneSampler Yeah, and most of R&H and Lerner & Lowe sound the same, and you can take any ALW or Sondheim tune from of either of their musicals and put it in another of their own musicals and anyone who’d never seen any of their shows wouldn’t notice. Musical theatre music has often been rooted in pop music, so there’s nothing new here.
I just saw it and the whole show has that 'Hallmark' sensibility. Seeing it live was full of cringe moments. Such great source material that is absolutely wasted on these lukewarm songs and awkward story telling. With this material the tears come easily, but they dry quickly and then the whole thing just becomes an annoying mess. This is more of a romance novel that a musical.
@@scottdavis7730 I hear they’re selling Notebook branded boxes of tissues in the lobby? This immediately struck me as pandering to the demographic who cry at everything from Hallmark movies to Folgers coffee commercials. I guess there’s an audience for everything, but I’m not sure that’s going to translate well to long term ticket sales or recognition at the Tonys.

YESS!
"I built these walls to bring you home
but all they bring me is more alone" that part alone makes me cry
the orchestration/arrangement, the emotions, the vocals? perfection!
Oh this musical is going to WRECK me
This song is a tenors dream come true. He sang this beautifully “I almost feel you - kissing my neck” has shaken me to my core.
It’s because of this song I went to see the show in April. It’s gorgeous. The whole score is.
What i would give to watch this live again! Magic!

His voice reminds me of Gavin Creel. Has that great high register and amazing belt
Especially when he adds his vibrato to closed consonants. VERY Gavin and I love it

Very beautiful song such amazing I subscribe for more musie❤❤❤❤❤❤ love this song

Now that Tom Holland is playing Romeo, I wonder if he could play Noah in this.

The music is thrilling, but those lyrics sound like they were rejected from Hallmark cards. I literally winced several times listening to this.

the show did not get good reviews......might get a tony nomination for the music...but the lyrics are too simple......
