- Hey guys it's Cait! I thought I'd check out some p-pop since quite a few of my subscribers are from the Philipines and some have been requesting for me to check out some p-pop, so here it is! Thank you for appreciating BGYO and SB19. They have other songs and performances that you may want to add to your list. SB19 (a senior group) has already their first album while BGYO just debuted. The latter’s new song (an OST for a much anticipated web series called ‘He’s Into Her’) will be released on the 23rd. Aside from these two, you might want to check out other PPop groups like 1st.One, ALAMAT, BINI, and MNL48. Hope you’ll like their music as well.

Yes both groups are very talented and humble... but SB19 is not the "PIONEER" of Ppop, they are just one of those who defined the growth of Ppop, same with BGYO and other new breeds of Ppop Artist.

They are five exceptionally talented men who writes and compose their music, choreographs it, do the design conceptualization of the mv, and are exceptional singers, rappers, and dancers.

Hi, I really love how you lend your impressions about the message of the song😊especially with "The Light" of BGYO. "The Light" is a powerful genre-bending Original Pilipino Music or P-Pop infuses with R&B, progressive Hip-hop and Electronic music elements. Most of its lyrics were written in English except with the Pre-chorus and Bridge part as it was written in Filipino by BGYO to reflect their own story in the song.
The song is a power anthem with an uplifting message that "speaks about empowerment, hope, and self-love".

BGYO "THE LIGHT" Fun Fact :The Concept of MV is not just a performance video. Per member have these different problem.
Aki - mental health
Nate - bullying and violence
Gelo - identy crisis
Mikki - academic pressure
Jl - social media addiction
So it's very relatable. This MV shows that they're really searching for the light amidst the darkness, only to find out in the end that the light is always been inside of us.
The song and the MV is telling us about today's issues and emphasises the importance of working hard and believing in ourselves to make positive changes to the world. Some fan pointed out a few hidden references to filipino politics in the MV. It's like they're using inspirations from national heroes ( or history) to inspire the youth of today to address the issues. Not sure if it's true but if it is that's pretty cool. It's actually brave too cos these issues are sensitive topics.
So glad that you reacted to BGYO "side by side" a much more established PPOP group. I think that really says a lot about the impact BGYO has generated at such a short period of time. Thank you! I am an EXO-L too btw. Love your EXO reactions as well :)

There's more SB19 can offer girll!! Their talent and capabalities are uncountable! The leader (Pablo) composed all their songs, the main vocal (Stell) choreograph most of their dance, the youngest (Justin) is creative director, and the remaining members also help conceptualizing the flow of the MV. If you want more of them. You can react to their TILALUHA TM pusuan. That video will give you goosebumps. The vocals are 💯👌
