Slimane won The Voice in 2016. After he did 4 albums, each one was number 1 in France. He already a important fan base in many other countries. AND… he is a excellent performer. He will carry emotions and will kill it. Hope he will do well !
And all his albums reached number one in the charts ? I didn’t know that! But it’s not wonder because I see that on Spotify his songs are very much heard. I also Read that he was excited to go to Eurovision. Which gives me hopes that Eurovision is not lost yet because artists like him ( quality artists ) still compete ❤️
@@georgikanevESC yeah. He is famous even in other countries, he has a fan base already in french speaking countries. He was rumored last year to be interested, but La Zarra was designated. Also we know that Anne Sila (a good singer, winner of the voice as well, but less productive than Slimane) was interested last year and could be nominated in the future. For France’s case, the good staging and good exposure of artists like La Zarra (even if she killed all her efforts with the hand gesture and questionnable behaviour 🤦♀️😅) and good exposure for Slimane may have a positive impact. It can : - re connect the French public to the contest (especially just before the junior contest organized in the country) - and convince mature / famous artists to compete for France. Indeed, The deliberate will to lose of the French delegation in the past and the poor songs that were sent 15-20 years ago totally killed the interest of French public for the contest. So maybe, with artist like Slimane, the contest will upgrade in their eyes as well as in the eyes of the famous French artists. 🤞 We will see.
@@CitronCassis yes exactly . I fully agree with you about how the public sees the Eurovision Song Contest. Many many see it as an “ new artist opportunity “ many see it as a joke. What La Zarra did wasn’t great indeed. But somehow after Barbara Pravi, Eurovision fans that don’t see the contest as a joke, look closely to what countries send and are able to judge the song in a fair way. I hope that other countries like Germany also do like that and wake the public and see the contest with different eyes. Slimane’s popularity seems very bright and positive from what I see.

Georgi, this is a very very good video… I’ve had this song on an endless loop since yesterday. He’s beyond amazing. The emotion he transmits with his voice 🤩😭… I’m saying it here: best Eurovision ballad ever.
Oh you’re saying it here !!! I wasn't ready to get actual Eurovision entries quite yet, but I am delighted we are getting something so amazing so early. This is a fantastic overall package and I already think it could be a contender to win in Malmo. If the rest of the songs are as strong as this, 2024 will be a very strong year indeed 🥰
Hey Terry, nice to have you here ❤️ I had a slight feeling that esc 2024 could be a strong year, one of the strongest ones. We don’t know anything yet. But Slimane’s song put the bar very high right now
Haha yesss I was emotional and anxious and all feelings together 😅 because it’s so early and I was thinking: omg it’s the first song , it better be good. And turns out to be moooore than good 😌
Don't worry Georgi - no one was prepared for the first song to be released so early 😉. Due to the early release, we will be listening to the song quite a few more times, and I'm curious to see how it will rank in April. No doubt a very high quality song and an amazing artist.
Yes I was thinking about it , that it’s very early. But on the other hand , many people who will watch the final that don’t follow the songs from now and just watch the final , which is probably 80%. This song will be new for them , so I guess it could take lots of votes from people who won’t be “ tired “ of listening to it I guess… For me it’s definitely a high quality song. Unbelievable voice
Niiiccceeeee! I love it, it's delicate, it's intens, it's soft and at the same time powerful. And then, his voice has this little Arab sound to it and I am a BIG fan of Arab music, so this one goes straight to my playlist. It's actually a llitle bit like a French/Arab Marco Mengoni but I think this song is much more delicate than Marco's. I suppose he launches it early because this way he can launch it at junior? I just hope that this doesn't make us get bored of it too soon 🤔 Furthermore, besides this, I like to think France is giving the world, and the country, a little peaceful wink 😉✌. Because you must admit, it is a lovely moment to launch this song, in this moment in time, with everything that is happening around the world, especially also in France. A beautiful lovesong sung by this wonderful singer of Arab backgrounds...might be my fantasy, but I get the message... Btw, I had a friend in school named Slimane, it comes from Suleman and you pronounce it as you write it but without the last E.
Absolutely agree with you about that. That it’s a song that came at the perfect timeline of the year with everything happening. With research and seeing that actually he is quite big in France means that’s it’s all well planed from the deligation of France to come now with that singer and that song. I wish other countries can also read the right time. His voice is really one of a kind. Very manly and serious, pronounces the French lyrics so good that I can even sing along a bit.
