Just found this animation again after all this time because of the It's Been So Long meme that was popular recently, I remember watching this video as a child and getting legit emotionally invested and getting really upset from the ending, it still feels somewhat powerful all these years later despite being a classic Mario parody, shows that this was crafted really well as a little hypothetical dark dive into the other side of the mushroom kingdom.

Technically, Mario was 'Super Mario' in this video as judged by his appearance (for those who don't know, Mario is simply referred to as 'Mario' when he doesn't have a Super Mushroom. And when he has a Super Mushroom he is called 'Super Mario').
The Goomba would live on, but Super Mario would merely be reduced to Mario. So I guess it's one step closer to the plumber's demise. Then again, Mario could just get another Super Mushroom and be back to his super state.

Well, no. Green-shelled Koopas are the ones that walk of cliffs. Making them the stupider Koopas in their species. Red-shelled Koopas are a lot smarter though. They don't walk of ledges that descend into the unknown. And while you consider Koopas as 'cowards'. The Koopas are smarter then Goombas. Koopas know they can survive if they hide in their shells if they're attacked. So they take advantage of their ability and benefit from it. While they can kill their allies, It's not their fault did it. It's Mario's fault as he kicked the shell.
Goombas are the degenerates here. Their entire species behave like green-shelled koopas (without the shell part). They charge Mario head on like they're invincible and walk of cliffs. So while you guys are empathising with the Goombas (like everyone else in the comments). You don't realise they are stupid as HECK.
The koopa race are always one step ahead of the Goombas. Some have even evolved into a stronger threat (hammer bro). Some can also live beyond the grave (Dry Bones).

Well, I'll be buggered. I just happened to stumble upon this well-animated short whilst on random auto-play. And, now that I've watched this the first time, I don't regret it one bit.
I feel that you handled the pacing, framing and overall presentation of this bittersweet short very well. I especially like how you showed certain life events through both the protagonist's POV and his/her child's POV.
Plus, your attention to detail with the environments and props (e.g. game consoles) really helped bring everything to life for me.
All in all, I'd call this a well-written and well-executed short that shows an emotional glimpse on the short life of a Goomba. Even for the Mushroom Kingdom, war must be a living hell.
Mystery Ezekude well, it was always in the same view, with a growing goomba, but he gets to see what he looked like as a child and and he knows how his father must have felt leaving his family forever.

Seeing all the Goomba has went through, then having it all flash before he's jumped on, and to end it... The simple clip of the Goomba being killed from Mario Bros. that everyone knows so well, and has heard so many times... It makes you realize that everytime you hear that sound come out of your speakers, you're doing that to a Goomba family. It makes you think, and it is brilliant :)

Many say that Mario is the True evil for killing so many Goombas, but Isn't it Bowser that sends these guys to their deaths?
Mario is trying to save the girl he loves, Bowser is forcing many Goombas to throw their lives away just to slow him down.
Mario is fighting for the well being of his home, Bowser is forcing the Goombas to do Bowser's work for him.
Mario is like a Solder fighting for his people, Bowser is Like Hitler sending Goombas to their deaths.
Mario is killing because he wants to save the ruler of his home and girlfriend, Bowser is sending the Goombas to die because he never learns that kidnapping Peach is the only thing you need to do to get Mario to come and wreck the place.
So I ask you this:
Who is the true evil in this matter; The guy that is killing for his home, or the guy that is sending harmless people to die so he has more time to prepare for attack?
I will not hate you if you think Mario is the True Monster, but Mario would most likely be fighting for the goombas if Bowser didn't make them betray the Mushroom Kingdom or put them as road blocks to slow Mario's progress.

You shouldn't correct someone on something they said before new theories or facts came to light. That's just wrong.
The Green Dragon 53 Official sources state that Peach isn't Mario's girlfriend - they are just friends. They cite the reason being the fact that she is only a teenager while Mario is old enough to be her dad. Why else does he only get a kiss on the cheek? He's shown more lust over a lobster dinner (Mario Sunshine) than he ever has over Peach.
Nokota Silver Peach and Mario are officially the same age. They were babies at the same time in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and Yoshi's Island DS, which both take place in the past.
The cartoons are not canon, obviously.
Emmietiie Eh... Partners in Time is yet another spinoff and not a main series game and doesn't change what we see about how the two act or the statements from Nintendo. I think in the "Time Travel" games all continuity gets thrown out the window for shits and giggles, and honestly, has there ever been any sense of continuity with Mario games in the first place?

The visual design is quite amazing. Yes the actual graphics look very dated, but the world building and FPV view are still top notch.
Combine this with the koopa’s ‘bah bah’ thing and
we could see a koopa-goomba revolution!
