Thank you so much for the visual. Although I am new I would like my work to look the best. I just bought kits from 11-14 over excited and realized I didn’t understand the size. Again thanks.
Sorry, I missed this at the time you posted it! I'd recommend 2 strands on 18-20 count, although with perle it should probably be one strand. Hope that still helps!
I got some digital patterns. They're 14 aida, but if I bought a kit they'd be on 18 aida. I prefer the detail and solid color look of the 18, but I'm confused why they converted to 14. This just confirms for me that they'll be tighter images but shouldn't alter the work itself. 18 strangely is more common to find than 16 for me, so I've never even tried it. Thanks for the full range for perspective. Had never even seen 6 before.
You're welcome! Most people have their preferred counts and never get the chance sometimes to see or try others. I enjoyed stitching all these samples as it gave me a chance to try everything. 22 count was very fiddly, and 6 count is weird because the needle and thread just falls out if you don't hold on to it, so it's more fiddly initially but then very easy - good for learning. Thanks for your comment.
@@StitchtasticUK I have plastic 14 count for some ornaments and because the holes are punched and uniform, I use a thicker needle, but it still slides out if I pause halfway. Thank you again. It's very nice to see the difference and confirm some patterns I want in different sizes. I think those stitch kits for beginners should offer like a 4x4 inch patch of like 3-4 different counts to try and teach the different embroidery stitches.
I bought a set from China for 18ct. It was impossible to embroider with two threads, it came out too tight. One thread again too rarely and it also looks bad. Maybe it's a problem with Chinese canva. In addition, the stitch is so fine that you probably have to embroider with a magnifying glass, because it tires the eyes. I ordered 14ct DMC original. I hope it will be better
You're welcome! I would recommend any of the Mouseloft designs, they're at www.stitchtastic.com/store/mouseloft-stitchlets. They come with 14 count aida, but you can use 6 count instead, you might just need a bit more thread!
Wow!!! Wonderfull video!¡!! Thanks!!! 💟💟💟
Thank you!
Great topic! 👍 Can't wait to learn more about Aida and counts. 😊
Great example of showing the counts. Thank you for sharing……
My pleasure! Sometimes there's noone to ask these questions to, or you feel silly not knowing, but you can always ask us at Stitchtastic.

How many threads are used for 22 ct?
Hi! Usually 2 threads, but you could try with 1 thread if you prefer.
